Toys for Tots donates to ECMS
Atmore Area Toys for Tots has been an Escambia County Middle School partner many years. This year, the program has donated more than 200 books to the school for grades four through eight. Special to Atmore News Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7016 in Atmore hopes to have a large crowd on hand for the Saturday, December 5, dedication and unveiling of “The MOH Recipients” road signs in honor of William Seay and Sidney Manning, Escambia County’s two Congressional Medal of Honor recipients. Virtual learning funds
Escambia County Middle School Principal Takecia Barlow, center, accepts checks from Johnson Ford’s Ben Odom, at left, and Atmore Mayor Jim Staff on Friday, November 21. The Staff family contributed $600; the city’s two new-car dealers, Johnson Ford and Jason Pilger Chevrolet, donated $400 each. The money will be used to help pay for virtual reality goggles that will be used in classroom lessons.
