Myrtle Dolores Combs

Combs

Mrs. Myrtle Dolores Combs, age 82, passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2020 in Jackson, Miss. She was a native of Macon, Ga., former resident of Brooksville, Fla. and Atmore, Ala. and had resided in Brandon, Miss. for the past two years. She was a Chaplain with the Southern Baptist Disaster Relief, Alabama Chapter and member of the Red Hat Society. She was a retired CNA, former dispatcher with the Atmore Police Department and former member of the Lottie Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Norton.
Mrs. Combs is survived by one son, Keith Arnold (Kim Huffman) of Pensacola, Fla.; one daughter, Denise (Shannon) Pharris of Brandon; seven grandchildren, Kristie Norton, Douglas Norton, Brandon Arnold, Judd Arnold, Kent Howard, Gage Pharris and Tyler Combs and numerous step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, December 5, 2020 at 2 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Thomas “Rex” Spicer

Mr. Thomas “Rex” Spicer, age 65, passed away Monday, November 30, 2020, in Tuscaloosa, Ala.  He was born in Andalusia, Ala., former resident of Bratt, Fla. and had resided in Atmore, Ala. for the past eighteen years. He loved his family especially his wife, daughter and grandson. He was a licensed electrician in Florida and Alabama, was an outdoorsman and loved to fish.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Beulah Spicer. 

Mr. Spicer is survived by his wife of forty four years, Sarah Jane Spicer of Atmore, Ala; one daughter and son-in-law, Tiffany and Michael Byrd of Atmore; one brother, Robert (Stephanie) Spicer of Atmore; one grandson, Jaxon Byrd; special niece, Alida Tecun and numerous other nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends. 

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 5, 2020 at 10 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Ronald Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Serenity Garden Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday, December 5, 2020 from 9 a.m. until service time at 10 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Weston Milstead, Ronnie Milstead, Brett Roberson, Michael Segers, Michael Byrd and Ken Roberson.

Kathleen Dellaccio

Dellaccio

Mrs. Kathleen Dellaccio, age 70, of Vestavia Hills, Ala., passed away Sunday, November 29, 2020. She was born in Mobile, Ala. to Vernon and Vida Blackwell. The family moved to Atmore, Ala where she met her husband, Doug. After marrying, later moved to Birmingham.

Her greatest joys centered around being a wife, a mother, and for the last 23 years, a dedicated grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mrs. Dellaccio is survived by her husband, Doug Dellaccio, Sr.; her children, Doug, Jr. (Nicole) Dellaccio, Charles Dellaccio, Angela Dellaccio and Laci (Justin) Schuman; her grandchildren Douglas III and Elise Dellaccio, Haley, Charlie and Hannah Dellaccio, James and Joseph Greene, and Bailey and Logan Schuman; her siblings, Danny Blackwell, Buddy Blackwell and Shannon Blackwell; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Due to Covid precautions, the family held a private celebration of life at Ridout’s Valley Chapel in Homewood, Ala. Thursday, December 3, 2020. In lieu of flowers, the family requests gifts be made to the UAB Coronavirus Response Support Fund https://www.uab.edu/fightcovid19/impact/medicine-fund.

Joseph Madison “Joe” Nall

Mr. Joseph Madison “Joe” Nall, age 76, passed away Thursday, December 3, 2020.  He was born June 3, 1944 in Century, Fla. to the late Leo Webb Nall and Elsie Earline Nall.  He was a graduate of Escambia County High School, the University of Alabama, and Webster University. He retired from the Air Force as a Colonel after a distinguished, 26-year flying and command career.

He was preceded in death by his parents and infant twin siblings, Graham Earl Nall and Doris Earline Nall.

Mr. Nall is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Dianne Mullen Nall; his son Joseph Madison Nall, Jr, his wife Kathy, and their daughters Anna and Molly; and his son David Mark Nall, his wife, Marianne Kunkel, and their son, Arlo, and daughter, Zora; brothers and sisters, Webb (Francis) Nall, Robert “Bob” (Jan) Nall, Elsie (Walt) Butler, Merrill (Angela) Nall, and Polly (Doug) Watkins, and numerous, beloved nieces and nephews.

In consideration of COVID-19 guidance, a private family graveside service will be held Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Oak Hill Cemetery with Dr. Chip Starnes officiating.  

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association (apdaparkison.org)

William Neal Franklin

Franklin

Mr. William Neal Franklin, age 99, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2020. He was born in Loango, Ala. to the late Millard and Annie Taylor Franklin. He was a member of Brooks Memorial Baptist Church. He served in The United States Army during World War II and was a member of Atmore Carney Lodge #549. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Genise Watford Franklin; his son, James Willis Franklin and his siblings, Carl Franklin and Jewel Rodgers. 

Mr. Franklin is survived by his sons, Mike Franklin of Atmore and Lavon (Bonnie) Franklin of Fort Payne, Ala; his brother, Gene (Ruth Ann) Franklin of Center, Ala.; his sisters, Mildred Hart of Birmingham, Ala. and Melba Crews of Columbus, Ga; his grandchildren, Ronald, Sherry, Kristopher, Blair and Jay Michael; nine great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. 

A graveside service with Military Honors will be held Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Atmore with Dr. Tim Tew officiating. 

The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 8, 2020 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Gideons International.

Susan Elizabeth White

White

Miss Susan Elizabeth White, age 60, of Atmore, Ala., passed away on Tuesday, December 1, 2020. She was born on in Atmore to Betty Bryars and the late Benny Royce White.

She was preceded in death by her father, Benny Royce White; her step-mother, Shirley White; her grandparents, Frank and Christine Bryars, John McCloud and Bessie White and her step-grandparents, Tom and Mary Wyatt.

Miss White is survived by her mother, Betty Bryars of Atmore; her brother, Joe White and her sister, Melissa White Gorum, both of Atmore; her step-sister, Mima West of Jay, Fla.; her step-brothers, Russ (Trisha) Wade of Flower Mound, Texas, Katie Wade, Jessica (Michael) Crockett, Morgan Floyd and Mallory Floyd; her cousins, Robert Collins, Gary Collins, Tuffy Atkins, Candy Atkins, Pat Atkins, Sarah Rivers, Kelly Malone Walker, Blake Malone, Janet Styron Allen, Randy White, Jacob Sells, Brandon Sells along with  numerous family and friends.

A Memorial service will be held in the Spring of 2021.

Permelia “Pam” Reynolds Middlebrooks

Mrs. Permelia “Pam” Reynolds Middlebrooks, age 78, passed away Sunday, December 6, 2020. She was born in Brewton, Ala. to the late Hunter and Emma Lee Phillips Reynolds. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Wanda Janice Sheffield. 

Mrs. Middlebrooks is survived by her husband, James Middlebrooks; son, Allen Blake Sheffield; her daughter, Donna Lynn Chavers Bolton; her brothers, Larry Thomas Reynolds and Marvin Othell Reynolds; her sisters, Marilyn Calvert and Loretta Reynolds and her grandchildren, Jason Dewayne Anderson, Timothy Allen Sheffield and Kyrsti Sheffield Howard.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at 2 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Don Sanks officiating. Interment will follow at McCullough Cemetery in McCullough, Ala,

The family will receive Tuesday, December 8, 2020 from 1 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Paula Ann Fillmore

Mrs. Paula Ann Fillmore, age 67, passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at her home in Atmore, Ala. She was born in Natchez, Miss., former resident of Roxie, Miss. and had resided in Atmore for the past thirty-four years. She was a homemaker devoting life to her husband, children and grandchildren and Alabama Football. She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-two years, Harding George Fillmore, Jr. and parents, Paul Travis and Lois Ann Halford. 

Mrs. Fillmore is survived by two sons, Harding G. “Cody” Fillmore III of Atmore and Heath (Shane) Fillmore of Bratt, Fla.; two daughters, Heather Fillmore Jamison of Atmore and Hayley (Adam) Dortch of Bratt; one sister, Geri (J.D.) Coleman of Smithdale, Miss.; seven grandchildren, Darren, Brooke, Sydney, Ali, Trey, Peighton and Carsyn; seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.  

Private graveside services were held Friday, December 4, 2020 at 2 p.m. at Pinebarrren Cemetery.

John S. Madan

Mr. John S. Madan, age 56, of New York and Alabama passed away Saturday, December 5, 2020. He was born in Vestal, N.Y. to the late Stanley S. and Carol Madan. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed collecting antique cars.

He was preceded in death by his parents. 

Mr. Madan is survived by his special friend, Kenneth Prescott; his beloved pet, Holly and many family and friends. 

A private graveside service will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Nathan Wayne Jackson

Mr. Nathan Wayne Jackson, age 62, passed away Sunday, December 6, 2020 at his home in Flomaton, Ala. He was a native of Stockton, Calif., former resident of Griffin, Ga. (40 years) and had resided in Flomaton for the past eight years. He was an Industrial Painter, painting houses, was a true professional in all he did. He loved fishing, being outdoors, dominoes and Georgia Football. He attended the Holy Ground Holiness Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edmond and Evelyn Jackson and brother, Edward Myrick.
Mr. Jackson is survived by two brothers, Roger Dale (Margaret) Jackson of Flomaton and Stephen Jackson along with numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 10, 2020 at 2 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Sis. Kathy Stophel officiating. Burial will follow at the Ebenezer Church Cemetery.

Sandra Faye Riley

Mrs. Sandra Faye Riley, age 69, of Brewton, Ala., passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2020d. She was born in Repton, Ala. to Claudia Mae Fountain. She worked as a caregiver and caterer. She took pride in caring for her family members; She loved to cook big family meals and loved to travel. She was influential in the upbringing of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, husband, George Washington Riley, Jr.,; brother, Terry Fountain and son Gregory Boyd.

Mrs. Riley is survived by four sons, Johnathan Boyd, Randall spears, Edward Fountain, Akron Fountain; three daughters, Chandra Boyd, Angel Fountain, Alia Fountain-Riley; thirteen grandchildren; Lakinzee Jones, Randall Spears, Gregory Spears, Hillary Boyd, Allen Boyd, Diondrey Lovelace, Antuwanae Boyd, Derek Spears, Alliya Smith, Jonathan Boyd, Marquez Boyd, Xavier Boyd, Jaleriah Boyd; sisters, Alberta Simpkins, Brenda Crosby, Comercial Monroe; brother, Gerry Fountain as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A memorial service was held Thursday, November 19, 2020 at 11 a.m. at John L. Fisher Community Center, Brewton, Ala. with Rev. Forrest B. Lett, officiating.
