Murphy McGhee
Mr. Murphy McGhee, age 70, passed away Monday, September 21, 2020 in Pensacola, Fla. He was a native of Atmore, Ala. and spent most of his adult life in Pensacola (forty-five years) with his sister, Norma and had resided in Poarch, Ala. for a number of years. He was a member of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians and attended the Atmore Apostolic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard McGhee, Sr. and Eula McGhee; step-mother, Erdeal Pennington; one brother, Hollie McGhee and three sisters, Margaret Owens, Norma Arnette and Clemie McGhee.
Mr. McGhee is survived by one brother, Leonard McGhee, Jr. of Foley, Ala.; two step-brothers; two step-sisters; two nieces; five nephews; seven great-nieces; ten great-nephews and a host of cousins and other family.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 24, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. David McNairn and Rev. Ray Ward officiating. Burial will follow at New Home Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 23, 2020 from 6 to 9p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Bryan McGhee, Robert Gafford, Jamie Gafford, Matthew McGhee, Melvin McGhee and Jerrell Hollinger.

Leisha Gibbs Strickland
Mrs. Leisha Gibbs Strickland, age 47, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2020 in Fairhope, Ala. She was a native of Atmore, Ala. and had resided in Fairhope for the past nineteen years. She attended New Providence Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Larry Gibbs.
Mrs. Strickland is survived by her mother, Nett Stewart Thomas of Rabun, Ala.; one son, James Richard Strickland, III of Nashville, Tenn.; one daughter, Cassie Gibbs of Foley, Ala.; one brother, Matthew Thomas of Atmore; one sister, Keisha Gibbs and nine grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Monday, September 28, 2020 at 2 p.m. at New Providence Cemetery with Rev. Henry Wilson officiating.

Patricia Claudine Powers
Mrs. Patricia Claudine Powers, age 60, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2020 at her home in Nokomis, Ala. She was a native of Austin, Texas and had resided in Nokomis, Ala. for the past twenty years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt. She was of the Methodist faith.
Mrs. Powers is survived by her two sons, Jackie (Betty) Powers, Jr. of Milton, Fla. and Oscar Powers of Nokomis; one daughter, Patricia Ann Powers (Charles Rice, Jr.) of Nokomis; one sister, Cynthia Ruth Landrum of Nokomis; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at 2 p.m.at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Jay Cemetery.

Sheree Ann Gill
Mrs. Sheree Ann Gill, age 67, passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at her home in Atmore, Ala. She was a native of Ozona, Texas and had resided in Atmore for the past thirty-one years. She was loving wife, who cared for everybody. She was a member of Atmore Kingdom Hall.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Angela Gates and parents, Carl and Becky Gill.
Mrs. Gill is survived by her husband of twenty-eight years, Bobby Gates of Atmore; one son, Roland Flanadan of Ozona; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at 2 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Alan officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mary Lue White
Mrs. Mary Lue White, age 79, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Friday, September 18, 2020. She was born in Wilcox County, Ala., to the late Joseph and Earnestine Montgomery. She received her high school education in Pineapple, Ala. She relocated to Connecticut with her best friend Betty Bishop and was employed with Pratt and Whitney Research Center in East Hartford. Conn. For many years. She returned to Atmore in 2003 to care for her mother and became a vital part of the local community ministry work. She served as a Sunday school teacher, president of the choir, missionary president, trustee board member and church counselor.
She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Roy James; husband, Robert White; son, Stewart White; one sister, Peggy Yattah and one brother; Thomas L. “Preacher” Montgomery.
Mrs. White is survived by four children, Cynthia (Darnell) Cook of Springfield, Mass., Robert White, Jr. and Lucy White, all of Atmore and Marcia (Gerald) Knighton of Pinson, Ala.; three grandchildren, Dameka Cook, Ivanna and Jarrell Knighton; siblings, Annie Marie Salter, Shirley Jones, Priscilla (Elder Willie C.) and Tracie James, all of Atmore; Barbara Deese of Albany, N.Y., Hazel (John) Anthony of Birmingham, Ala., Bonnie (Rodney) Strevson, Veronica (Mark) Wilcox , Stanley (Jackie) Montgomery and Christine Gibson, all of Mobile, Ala., Debra (Alfred) Sharp of Freemanville, Ala., Judy James of Montgomery, Ala., special nieces, Ellen Gail Salter and Annie Ruth Williams; a host of family and friends in Conn.
Graveside services were held Friday, September 25, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery with Rev. James T. Crook officiating eulogist.
Pallbearers were James Salter, Courtney Leslie, Jesse Bell, Thomas Montgomery, Jr., Janagen Williams and Garrick Russell.

Isceia “Ieisha” Duane McNeal
Ms. Isceia “Ieisha” Duane McNeal, age 43, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Sunday, September 20, 2020. She was born in Atmore to Linda McNeal and Willie C. English. She was a 1996 graduate of Escambia County Training School. She continued her education at Reid State College earning her LPN. She was employed with the Mobile County District Attorney’s office and later with Atmore Community Hospital. She was a member of Second Mt. Triumph Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents and aunt, Lettie Ann Richmond.
Ms. McNeal is survived by her mother, Linda of Atmore; father, Willie C. (Keisha) English of Miss; two children, Ija McNeal and Davion Matthews, both of Atmore; sister, Tomekie “Tracy” (Lashaun Robinson) Jones; grandchild, Jia “Duper” Bright of Atmore; two uncles, Chuck McNeal and Thomas McNeal; nieces and nephews, Shytess Jones, Lashaun Robinson and Donovan Robinson; special friends and family, Tamesha Peterson of thirty year of Montgomery, Ala.
Graveside services were held Saturday, September 26, 2020 at 2 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery with Minister Homer Brown officiating.

Richard Eady
Mr.
Richard Eady, age 81, passed away unexpectedly Friday, September 25, 2020. He was
born in Rabun, Ala. having lived there his entire life. He was a skilled heavy
equipment operator, mechanic, and farmer. Although his children thought he ran
a pretty tight ship when they were young, his grandchildren could do no wrong.
By the time great-grandchildren came along, he was leaving candy in their
mailbox, giving them all the sweet tea their heart desired, and letting them
play with anything and everything. You could usually find him fishing,
tinkering, visiting with his family, or watching westerns. No matter the
occasion, he would always be wearing his trilby hat with a notebook and pen in
his shirt pocket. He was a fixer of all things, whether it be a backhoe, a
truck, a tricycle, or a broken heart. He was a good listener and provided
invaluable words of wisdom that will be shared for generations to come.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Nettie Eady; his siblings,
Hubert Eady, Buddy Eady, Melba Parker, Bruce Eady, and Doris Stewart; his
daughter, Tracey Eady; his great-grandchildren, Trinity Long, Malaki Lender,
Peyton Giles, and Blayne Shackelford.
Mr. Eady is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Barbara Eady; his children, Cindy Eady, Duane (Tammy) Eady and Daphne (Syd) Reed; his grandchildren, Shauntae (James) Giles, Syndle Vinson, Jessica (James) Rockhill, Kimberly Hicks, Charity Eady, Alyssa (Andrew Harville) Blackburn, Allie (Matt) Shackelford, Briana (Juan Lopez) Blackburn, Carlie Reed, Sydney Reed, and Chaynce Eady; his great-grandchildren, Kolten Coleman, Jordyn Shackelford, Ariel Vinson, Kyra Vinson, Blaiklynn Long, Serenity Vinson, Emma Rockhill, Ana Reece Bryant, Lyla Drew Harville, Abigail Rockhill, Maxwell Lopez, Mattie Shackelford, Bennett Rockhill, Ronan Lopez, Ellie Grace Shackelford, Beau Boudreaux, and Nolan Lopez.
The family will receive friends Thursday, October 1, 2020 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Lighthouse Tabernacle Church of God, 54362 Rabun Rd, Bay Minette, AL 36507.
Graveside services will follow immediately at 2 p.m. at Dean Cemetery in Rabun, Ala.
Pallbearers will be Chaynce Eady, Kolten Coleman, Jeff Parker, Syd Reed, James Rockhill, and Matt Shackelford.
Honorary pallbearers will be Joey Eady, Jack Bush, Brian Blackburn, and James Giles.
