Brian Linden Joy
Mr. Brian Linden Joy, age 61, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Thursday, July 2, 2020 at his residence. He was born in Rochester, N.H. to Stanley G. Joy and the late Dorothy Styron. He was a friend to many and would do anything to help those he called friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Godwin Joy and his mother, Dorothy Styron Bowden.
Mr. Joy is survived by his father, Stanley G. Joy of Silverhill, Ala.; brother, Steven Joy of Atmore; two daughters, Rebecca McKinley of Albany, Ga. and Stefanie Kockx of Woodbridge, Va.; and two grandchildren, Parker, and Ally.
A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday, July 11, 2020 at 10 a.m. at Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Arnold Hendrix officiating.

Kenneth “Kenny Ray” Jordan
Mr. Kenneth “Kenny Ray” Jordan, age 67, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Monday, July 6, 2020. He was born in Atmore to the late Franklin Buddy Jordan and Ella Ruth Stacey. He owned and operated Kenny’s Glass Company.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Shelby Jordan and one son, Scotty Jordan.
Mr. Jordan is survived by one son, Casey (Jennifer) Jordan of Atmore; one daughter, Brandy Short of Ore.; one sister, Nancy (Tim) Jernigan of Barnett Crossroads, Ala.; three brothers Tommy (Betty) Jordan of Nokomis, Ala., Howard (Jean) Jordan of Atmore and Donald Jordan of Tallassee, Ala.; numerous grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held Monday, July 13, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home with Rev. Alton Lister officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Gary Smith, Cody Sanspree, D.J. Jordan, Bubba Jordan, Ridge Jordan and Bobby Ealum.
Honorary pallbearers will be Matt Jernigan and Brandon Wiggins.

Loyd Joseph Berthiaume
Mr. Loyd Joseph Berthiaume, age 68, of McDavid, Fla., passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Fla. He had been a member of the McDavid community for over fifty years coming from Fredericksburg, Va. He worked as a self-employed carpenter. He was a member of the Lion’s Club, enjoyed working on old cars and was a huge fan of NASCAR’s Jimmie Johnson. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was of the Catholic faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Loys J. and Irene E. Boyd Berthiaume.

Roger Lee Miller
Mr. Roger Lee Miller, age 64, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2020 in Atmore, Ala. He was a native and life-long resident of the Escambia County, Ala. area. He was retired from Atmore Industries with ten years of service; seven years of service with Trus Joist Macmillon,
Castleberry, Ala. and twenty-nine years of service with Vanity Fair. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, loved spending time with his family, gardening and vacationing on Lake Eufaula in Alabama. He was a member of the Atmore Apostolic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Wilson and Ester Miller and brother, Wilson Miller, Jr.
Mr. Miller is survived by his wife of thirty-five years, Cornelia Manning Miller of Huxford, Ala.; two sons, Zackary “Zack” Lee Miller of Huxford and Roger Lucas “Luke” (Carrie) Miller of Little Rock, Ala.; one brother, Darrel Dewayne Miller of Little Rock; two grandchildren, Remington Lucas Miller and Zaelyn Jolene; forever special nephews, Randal Miller of Little Rock and Alex Baggett of Starks, La. and numerous other nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Graveside services will be held Sunday, July 12, 2020 at 2 p.m. at New Home Cemetery with Bro. Tim James officiating.

Mrs. Delia “Dee” Lynn Mason, age 57, of Century, Fla., passed away Thursday, July 9, 2020. She was born in Pensacola, Fla. She loved her family and grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Charlotte Salzer.
Mrs. Mason is survived by her husband, Timothy Mason; two sons, Stoney Mason and Dusty Mason; two grandchildren, Kaya Mason and Max Mason; her father, Wayne Dietrich; seven sisters, Julia (Branson) Rutherford, Charlotte McCrory, Tracy (Dan) Colasono, Lavell Watson, Pamela Butler, Laura Carter and Susan Fretwell; two nephews, Wayne Harrell and Robert McCrory; five nieces, Kimberly Atkins, Christine Bailey, Deborah Mason, Stephanie Bergeron and Lorna Pullen and four aunts, Francis Marie Pate, Glenda Ruston, Debra Castler and Patricia Pudsey.
Funeral service will be held Monday, July 13, 2020 at 3 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home with Pastor Shawn Woods officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Oak Grove, Fla.

Larry Eugene McCoy
Mr. Larry Eugene McCoy, age 74, of Nokomis, Ala., passed away Sunday, July 12, 2020 in Nokomis. He was born in Anna, Ill. to the late Wilbert and Mary Bloodworth McCoy. He served in the United States Army 2nd Armored Division and was an E-5 SPC 2nd Class and served during the Vietnam War. He was a graduate of Southern Illinois University. He served thirty years with National Mine Service and served on the rescue team which he was awarded the Coal Mine Rescue Hall Of Fame Award for his twenty six rescues. He then continued his protection with his Company Mc2 and worked six years with Draeger Safety.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, James “Jim” McCoy.
Mr. McCoy is survived by his wife of thirty-four years, Barbara Rogers McCoy of Nokomis; two children, Ross McCoy of Montgomery, Ala. and Katherine (Khaki) Bell of Atmore, Ala.; three grandchildren, Tyler, Lucas and Emily; many nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends across the country.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at noon at Sullivan Cemetery in Nokomis.

Clarence Eugene Carlton
Mr. Clarence Eugene Carlton, age 71, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Sunday, July 12, 2020. He was born in Bay Minette, Ala. to the late Lloyd and Lettie Thompson Carlton. He served twenty-one years in the United States Army and during his military career, he also served in Vietnam retiring at the age of thirty-eight. Thereafter, he became a contractor for Shell Oil (Gulf of Mexico). He attended Healing Waters Church in Bay Minette, Ala.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Janet Carlton and his brother, Tommy Carlton.
Mr. Carlton is survived by his wife, Felicia Carlton of Canoe, Ala.; one son, Brandon (Heather) Carlton of Alabaster, Ala., eight grandchildren, Rylee, Reese, Rowan, Kennedy, Dagan, Addie, Maddie and Garrick; one sister, Patsy White of Nokomis, Ala. and three brothers, Jimmy (Janice) Carlton of Canoe, Johnnie Ray Carlton of Eufaula, Ala. and Billy Joe Carlton of Atmore, Ala.
Funeral service will be held, Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home with Bro. Josh Long and Bro. Don Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Atmore.

Gloria Annette Sanspree
Mrs. Gloria Annette Sanspree, age 81, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2020 at her home in Atmore, Ala. She was a native of Mobile, Ala., former resident of Choctow Beach, Fla. and had resided in Atmore for the past forty-nine years. She was a military wife serving many duty stations as she traveled around the country supporting her husband. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of the West End Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-two years, Horry Daniel Sanspree; her mother and father, Ed and Gladys Brunson; a grandson, Lt. Cpl. Travis Nelson USMC; son-in-law, Scott Nelson; a great-granddaughter, Jenifer Elliott and a sister Bonnie Smith.
Mrs. Sanspree is survived by her three daughters, Marty Sanspree, Debra Sanspree Fight and Beckie Sanspree Nelson, of Atmore; two grandsons, Danny Elliott and Jason Elliott; one granddaughter, Anna Nelson; three great-grandchildren, Michael, Jacob and Julius and three nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at 2 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Mitch Herring officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.

John Mack Culliver
Mr. John Mack Culliver, age 75, of Brewton, Ala., passed away Friday, July 3, 2020 at D. W. McMillan Memorial Hospital in Brewton. He was born to the late J.D. and Minnie Mae Culliver. He was a member of Second Bethlehem Baptist Church his entire lifetime. He received his education at Southern Normal School in Brewton and worked forty two years at T. R. Miller Mill Company. He loved farming, building picnic tables and relaxing outside under a shade tree.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter; brother, Samuel Culliver and sister, Ethel Bell Williams.
Mr. Culliver is survived by his wife, Minnie Lee Meeks Culliver; two sons, John (Michelle) Culliver of Okemos, Mich. and Keith Richardson of Evergreen, Ala.; brother, Howard Culliver of Brewton; sister, Gloria (Leslie) Thomas of Piscataway, N.J.; six grandchildren, Kayla Culliver, Michelle Lowe, Brianna Lowe, twins, Jordan and Alexis Culliver and Ethan Culliver; six great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends and acquaintances.

Mr. DeMarcus Lawson, age 19, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Saturday, July 4, 2020 in Atmore, Ala. He was born in Atmore to Marvin and the late Rose (Benjamin) Lawson. He was a graduate of Escambia County High School.
He was prec4eded in death by his mother.
Mr. Lawson is survived by his father, Marvin (Debra) Lawson, Sr. of Atmore; two brothers, Maurice (Shantel) Patterson of Molino, Fla. and Marvin Lawson Jr. of Atmore; one daughter, Skylar Lawson; two step-brothers, Forest Felder and Darrell Felder, both of Atmore; one step-sister, Crystal Felder (Devontae) Austin of Columbus, Ga.; grandmother, Willie Mae Benjamin of Atmore and a host of uncles, aunts, relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Sunday, July 12, 2020 at 11 a.m. at graveside at Stallworth Cemetery with Rev. Cal Abner, officiating.
