Chamber offers leadership programs

Special to Atmore News

The Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce is now accepting Class of 2020-21 applications for its leadership development programs – Youth Leadership Atmore, Chamber Ambassadors, and Leadership Atmore. These Chamber leadership programs prioritize creating spaces where diverse perspectives can come together to learn, grow, and push the community forward.

Youth Leadership Atmore

A project created by class members of Leadership Atmore 1995, it is a youth leadership program modeled after Leadership Atmore.

Youth Leadership Atmore is comprised of a group of qualifying dedicated high school juniors from each high school throughout the Atmore area.

The purpose of Youth Leadership Atmore is to prepare and build leadership within the students selected. Goals are to motivate and provide participants with personal growth opportunities and leadership training while learning firsthand how the community works and how leadership can make a difference.

Deadline for applications is Friday, May 29, 5 p.m.

Chamber Ambassadors

The Chamber Ambassador Program is a volunteer program at the Atmore Chamber of Commerce. Ambassadors represent the Chamber in the community and at Chamber-sponsored events.

Chamber Ambassadors are a group of qualifying dedicated high school senior volunteers from each high school throughout the Atmore area. Their mission is to act as goodwill representatives at Chamber functions and aid in the support of Chamber members.

Deadline for applications is Friday, May 29, 5 p.m.

Leadership Atmore

Leadership Atmore was founded in 1993 and was modeled after other leadership programs throughout the state.

This program of the Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce is designed to identify and develop the leadership potential in the community. Each class brings together individual local leaders and reflects the diversity of the community. This diversity, in both backgrounds and experiences, greatly enhances the “leadership experience” while building a network of informed citizens who share a common bond.

No deadline has been set at this time.
