Jeremiah Lewis Talmage

Mr. Jeremiah Lewis Talmage, age 39, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Sunday, April 12, 2020 in Orlando, Fla. He was born in Pensacola, FL. to Robert and Patricia Hadley Talmage. He was a Parts Manager with Chris Myers and was known to be the best parts manager around. He was an avid Pittsburgh Penguins fan.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Hank and Lane Talmage and John and Ruby Hadley and his wife, Courtney Talmage.

Mr. Talmage is survived by his parents, Robert and Patricia Hadley Talmage of Atmore; his fiancé, Brianna Wiggins; children, Jordan Talmage, Harlen Talmage, Audin Odom, Bryson;

Odom and Kanzlyn Odom; one brother, Calem (Elizabeth) Talmage of Atmore and a sister, Memori (Shannon) Peavy of McDavid, Fla.; nieces and nephews, Bristol Talmage, Cocoa and Mazie Peavy.

Graveside services were held Thursday, April 16, 2020 at 12:30 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery with Bro. Randell Short and Bro. Wayne Fails officiating. Burial followed in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Calem Talmage, Shannon Peavy, David Tillery, Ryan Green, Chris Hadley and Aydin Odom.

Honorary pallbearers were Bryson Odom, Ian McGhee and Nathan Gillis.

Patrick DuWayne Hadley, II

Mr. Patrick DuWayne Hadley, II, age 26, passed away Monday, April 13, 2020 in Laurel, Miss. He was a native and life-long resident of Bay Minette, Ala. He was a 2013 graduate of Baldwin County High School, where he played football. He was employed with Southern Land Service as a tree surgeon and was a firefighter serving with the Semmes, Ala. Fire Department.
Mr. Hadley is survived by his father, Patrick Duwayne Hadley of Foley, Ala.; mother, Dorothy Jean (Chris) Stacey of Rabun, Ala.; wife, Codie L. Hadley of Bay Minette; mother of his children, Courtney Bryars of Bay Minette; mother by love, Christia Crawford of Bay Minette; one son, Bryson Cooper of Bay Minette; one daughter, Karla Hadley of Bay Minette; two brothers, Preston Hadley of Birmingham, Ala. and Brandon Burkett of Rabun; three sisters, Brianna Burkett of Rabun, Michelle (Matthew) McCary and Charity Hadley (Gary, Jr.) Wise, all of Bay Minette; aunt and uncle, James (Maria) White of Bay Minette and numerous other aunts, uncles, other relatives and many other family and friends.
Graveside services were held Saturday, April 18, 2020 at 1 p.m. at Bryars-McGill Cemetery with Bro. Tony Banning officiating.
Pallbearers were Chris Williams, Brandon Burkett, Levi Stacey, Dustin Shivers, Anthony Hopkins, Josh Dodge, Taylor Graham, Bree Paul, Cody and Chris Bolton.

Mildred Walker Hanson

Hanson

Mrs. Mildred Walker Hanson, age 89, of Gulf Shores, Ala., passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2020 in Pensacola, Fla. She was born in Mt. Vernon, Ala. to the late Alvin B. and Margaret Forte Walker. Mildred grew up in Calvert and Atmore, Ala. She was an early member of The Barnes Boys Reunion Group. While living in Atmore, she created a First Methodist Church group of older members called, “The Joy Riders” taking day trips to other towns in a bus owned by Mildred’s family. She was an accomplished florist and artist and made it her lifelong career.  For many years she was co-owner, with her sister Betty Raley, of Barton Flower Shop in Atmore. Later, she started The Lazy Daisy Flower Shop in Gulf Shores. She sang alto in every Methodist Church that she belonged to since childhood. In her retirement years, she volunteered in many organizations working behind the scenes: the Fort Morgan Living History Program, the Fort Morgan Volunteer Fire Dept. Auxiliary, where she was a founding member, The First United Methodist Church and an original Election Day Poll Worker for Ft. Morgan area. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion “Bubba” Hanson; brother, Dennis Walker and sisters, Edith W. Cobb and Carolyn W. Davidson.

Mrs. Hanson is survived by her sister, Betty W. Raley of Atmore; daughter, Marlene Nall Johnt (James W.) of Gulf Shores and much loved granddaughter, Alaina M. Harris of Washington, D.C. and ten nieces and nephews.

Graveside service for close family members was held at the Shell Banks Baptist Church Cemetery in Gulf Shores.

Gerda Taylor

Mrs. Gerda Taylor, age 83, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., passed away Thursday, April 16, 2020 in Fort Walton Beach. She was born in Frankfurt, Germany to the late Rudolf and Elisabeth Dora Holz Muth. She was a homemaker most of her life but she did work as a mail room supervisor for Morrison, Inc. and Daily Access Corporation for at least thirty years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Luther Taylor, Sr. and son, Hans Taylor.

Mrs. Taylor is survived by her children, Luther (Nookan Walden) Taylor, Jr. and Rosa Maria (Kenneth) Erdberg, both of Fort Walton Beach; one brother, Helmut Kolb of Grand Cayman Islands and a sister, Inge Weingartner of Frankfurt; three grandchildren, Luther Adam Taylor, David Ryan Erdberg and Michael Taylor Erdberg.

Graveside services were held Monday, April 20, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery with Rev. Charlie Albertell officiating. Burial will followed in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Winifred Hunter

Mrs. Winifred Hunter, age 82, passed away Friday, April 17, 2020 at her home in Baker, Fla. She was a native of Warrington, England, former resident of Milton, Fla. and had resided in Baker for the past two and one-half years. She was retired from Piggly Wiggly with over 30 years of service. She was of the Baptist faith.

She is preceded in death by her son, Dallas Edwards.

Mrs. Hunter is survived by five sons, Clyde Hunter of Ariz., George Hunter of Brewton, Ala., Greg Hunter of Byrneville, Fla., Chris Hunter and John Hunter, both of Century, Fla; one daughter, Melsia Hunter of Baker; seventeen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

Memorial Services will be held at a later date.

Suzanne Ruth McGee 

Mrs. Suzanne Ruth McGee, age 71, passed away Friday, April 17, 2020 at her home in Atmore, Ala. She was a native of Corsicana, Texas, former resident of Sunset, Texas and had resided in Atmore for the past twelve years. She served as a House Parent for mentally and physically challenged adults and was a member of the Robinsonville Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-one years, William Thomas “Skip” McGee, Jr. and parents, Romeny and Betty Ruth Hammock.
Mrs. McGee is survived by her son, William O. “Billy Bob” (Alyssia) of Atmore; two granddaughters, Cheyenne McGee of Robinsonville, Ala. and Shawnee McGee of Atmore and one sister, Sandra (Ed) Ellis of Ferriday, La.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at 2 p.m. at Judson Creek Indian Cemetery with Rev. Phil Johnson officiating.
