Glenna Sue Amos Beck

Mrs. Glenna Sue Amos Beck, age 76, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2020. Sue was born in Davisville, Fla. to William O. and Mellie Franklin Amos. She was a resident in Davisville until moving to Atmore in 2017. She attended Davisville Elementary School and graduated from Ernest Ward High School. She was retired from the First National Bank & Trust in Atmore after forty years.

She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-three years, Andrew Jackson Beck; her parents and a sister and a brother.

Mrs. Beck is survived by her fourteen nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were held at Pine Barren Baptist Church Cemetery at 2 p.m. Friday, March 20, 2020 with Rev. Diane Everette officiating.

Donations can be made to the Pine Barren Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.

Clyde Albert Bristow, Sr.

Mr. Clyde Albert Bristow, Sr., age 78, passed away Monday, March 16, 2020 in Pensacola, Fla. He was a native of Engadine, Mich., former resident of McAlester, Okla. and had resided in Atmore, Ala. for the past three years. He was a member of the Liberty Riders Motorcycle Club of Lake George, Mich. and was of the Church of God faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Esther Lydia Bristow; son, Randy Keith Bristow and sister, Joyce Moore.

Mr. Bristow is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Loretta Bristow of Atmore; two sons, Donald Edward (Vicki) Bristow of Newberry, Mich. and Clyde Albert (Jody) Bristow of Dothan, Ala.; one daughter, Esther Lydia Pennell of Slocomb, Ala; daughter-in-law, Karen Bristow of Van Buren, Ark.; one brother, Donald Bristow of Little Rock, Ark.; one sister, Margaret Nicholas of Alma, Ark.; ten grandchildren, Randy, Kyle, Jessica, Aaron, Matthew, Brandy, James, Joshua, Wyatt and Aurora and ten great-grandchildren, Averie, Macie, Randy III, Elissa, Riley, Luke, Joseph, Maddison, Tessa and Mason.

There will be no funeral service.

Climmie Lindsey Johnson

Mrs. Climmie Lindsey Johnson, age 96, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Monday, March 16, 2020 at the home of her daughter in Daphne, Ala. She was born to the late Eddie and Josie Grant. She was a faithful member of Mt. Gillead Missionary Baptist Church until she joined New Order Baptist Church under the leadership of her nephew, Pastor Sidney Grant.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, James Clarence Lindsey and Clifford Johnson; four sisters, Evelyn Grant, Lillie English, Anna Bell Jones and Corinne Welch; four brothers, Dan Grant, C. Nell Grant, Roger Grant and Eddie Grant Jr.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by six daughters, Minnie Ellis and Carolyn (Mack) Salter, both of Freemanville, Belinda (William) Runnels of Hephzibah, Ga., Jacquelyn Watson of Daphne, Fannie (Ernest) Marvin of Cantonment, Fla. and one son, Eddie (Shelly) L. Lindsey; one son-in-law, Melvin Fitzpatrick; twenty-three grandchildren; forty-four great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephew, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 21, 2020 at 2:30 p.m. at Mt Gillead Baptist Church (Freemanville Community) with Reverend Sidney Grant, Eulogist and Bernard L. Bryant, Director of Order. Interment followed in the Peirce, Rabb –Montgomery Cemetery in the Freemanville Community.

Pallbearers were her grandsons and nephews.

Flower bearers were her granddaughters and nieces.

Linda Darlene Pugh Johnson

Mrs. Linda Darlene Pugh Johnson, age 60, of McCullough, Ala., passed away Friday, March 20, 2020 in Pensacola, Fla. She was born to the late John Calvin and Ada Cannon Pugh in Bay Minette, Ala. She was a homemaker most of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Jean Nicole Johnson.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by her husband, Ronald Johnson of McCullough; two daughters, Megan Johnson of McCullough and Janice (Doug) Cook of San Francisco, Calif.; one brother, Johnny (Mary Ann) Pugh and a sister Karen Pugh, all of Bay Minette, Ala. and one grandson, William Lemmon.

Graveside services were held Monday, March 23, 2020 at 2 p.m. at McCullough Cemetery with Pastor Cornelius Phillips officiating. Burial followed in McCullough Cemetery.

Eunice Elaine Davis

Mrs. Eunice Elaine Davis, age 77, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Thursday, March 19, 2020

in Pensacola, Fla. She was a homemaker. She was born in Atmore to the late P.J. and Pearl Tressell Holsonback.

She was preceded by her parents; brothers, S.W. Holsonback, and Buddy Holsonback;

a sister, JoAnn Sheahan,

Mrs. Davis is survived by her husband of fifty-nine years John L. Davis of Atmore; one son,

John L. “Skipper” Davis, Jr. of Pollard, Ala.; one daughter, Melody (Tim) Russell of

Atmore; one sister, Margaret Chapman of Pawleys Island, S.C.; three grandchildren, J.T., Charlee and Chance; two great-grandchildren, Crimson and Zaylee.

Graveside services were held Saturday March 21, 2020 at 3:30 p.m. from Freemanville

Community Cemetery with Dr. Dale Patterson officiating. Interment will follow in Freemanville Community Cemetery.

Ms. Lena Mae McCall, age 68, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Thursday, March 19, 2020 at Atmore Nursing Center.

Ms. Dorothy E. “Dot” Nettles, age 61, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Friday, March 20, 2020 at her residence.

Ms. Annette Lee, age 64, of Rock Island, Ill., formerly of Atmore, Ala. passed away Saturday, March 21, 2020 in Rock Island.

Ava Marie Lewis      

Ms. Ava Marie Lewis, 60 of Perdido, Ala., passed away Friday, March, 20, 2020 at her residence. She was a loving mother and homemaker. She was employed as a CNA. She was born in Atmore, Ala. to the late John Wesley and Doris Owens Lewis.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Daniel Lewis and Mark Lewis

And four sisters.

Ms. Lewis is survived by two sons, Benjamin Moye and Matthew Moye; one daughter, Heather

(James) Cross, all of Perdido; four grandchildren, Hanna Moye, Madalyn Moye, Hunter Moye and Abbie Moye and her special Furbaby, “Shorty”.

Helena Hill

Helena Hill, age 84, of Brewton, Ala., passed away Thursday, March 19, 2020 at D. W. McMillan Hospital in Brewton.

Wanda Denise Wright Marshall

Mrs. Wanda Denise Wright Marshall, age 53, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Friday, March 13, 2020, at West Florida Hospital, Pensacola, Fla. She was born in Century, Fla. to the late Eddie Jefferson and her mother, Mary Lee Griggs. She grew up in Century and attended high school there. She was a member of Bethel AFM Church of God, Century. Her faith in God carried her through many years of health challenges. She held several positions and loved working with her clients at Home Care Solutions and Nell’s Care.

She was preceded in death by her father; grandmothers, Louise Wright and Willie Bell Jefferson; grandfathers, David Wright and Jim Carter; sister, Diane Jacobs and brothers, Ivory Washington and Marin Mims.

Mrs. Marshall is survived by her husband, Marvin; three children, Nichole Paige, Heron Pete III and Marquitta Marshall; mother, Mary Griggs; seven grandchildren, JuKuan Brooks, Taniyah Paige, Kinte’ Franklin, Jr., Kameron Franklin, Ar’laysia Pete, Ar’ynn Pete and Ar’yiel Pete; nine siblings, Annette (Wiley) Barton, Regina Wright, Terrance Jefferson, Anjanette (James) Durant, Jessie Blue, Yvette (Kirk) Moore, Ken Washington, Lisa Mims and Michelle Frazier; two special friends, Lamonica Shoemo and Delois Daniels.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 21, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Emmanuel’s Christian Center with Bishop Wayne Johnson, Pastor officiating. Eulogy by Bishop Russell Fountain, Jr., Bethel AFM Church of God.

Pallbearers were Terrance Jefferson, Jessie Blue, Wiley Barton, Jeffery Wilson, Willie Lee, Paderick Marshall

Flower bearers were her nieces.
