BOE approves personnel recommendations

The first couple of months each year, the Escambia County Board of Education holds meetings in schools rather than at the Brewton Central Office. The meeting on Thursday, January 23, was held at Rachel Patterson Elementary School. Also, January is Board Appreciation Month, and the school administration and staff hosted a reception for the board following the meeting.
The BOE approved the following personnel recommendations by Superintendent John Knott at the board meeting.
Resignation
1. Haley Boutwell, 6-hour lunchroom worker, Rachel Patterson Elementary School, effective January 17, 2020
2. Lizette Perez de Lopez, 7-hour custodian, Flomaton High School, effective February 6, 2020
Retirement
1. Tina Hunt, elementary teacher, Flomaton Elementary School, effective February 1, 2020
Employment
1. Mandy Murphy, elementary teacher, Flomaton Elementary School, effective February 3, 2020 (replacing Tina Hunt)
