Randy Levon Aldridge

Aldridge

Mr. Randy Levon Aldridge, age 51, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2019 in Indiana. He was a native of Pensacola, Fla., former resident of Monticello, Miss. and had resided in Jay, Fla. for the past four years. He grew up on a farm doing all kinds of farm work and he was Superman to everyone. He worked in the Offshore Oil Industry as a crane operator and was a truck driver with Horizon Transportation.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Penny Nicole Aldridge and Marylin Renea Chavers.

Mr. Aldridge is survived by his parents, Donald Wesley and Shirley Marie Aldridge of Jay; siblings, Rebecca Ann Aldridge of Mobile, Ala., Tina Marie Aldridge and Jennifer Gail (John J.) Youngblood, all of Jay and Samantha Lynn (Carl Avery) Eldridge of Grand Bay, Ala.; grandmother, Helen Marie Chavers; nieces and nephews, Justin Shane McGowin, Courtney Lynn McGowin, Samuel Wesley Avery Eldridge, Hunter Austin Eldridge, Aria Renea Eldridge, Ashlee Noel Lambert, Jaylen Noah Youngblood, Jaymes Logan Youngblood, Jayden Foster Youngblood and Jayson Youngblood and many great nieces and nephews; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Funeral service were held Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Gilbert Cozart officiating. Burial followed at Enon Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family received friends Wednesday, October 16, 2019 from 1 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Justin McGowin, Carl Eldridge, Carl Scarbourgh, Jay Youngblood, Michael Chavers and Cody Chavers.

Stan Childress 

Mr. Stan Childress, age 77, of Rocky Face, Ga., passed away Sunday, October 13, 2019 at his residence. He was a retired Army Major, having served two tours of duty in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot.

He was preceded in death by his parents, R. D. and Gertrude Childress of Atmore, Ala.

Mr. Childress is survived by his wife, Gloria Childress of Rocky Face; daughters and sons-in-law, Heidi (James) Greene, of S.C. and Tiffany (Daron) Davis of Alpharetta, Ga.; sons and daughters-in-law, Ryan (Dawn) Childress of Knoxville, Tenn., Bryan (Rose) Childress of Port St. Lucie, Fla. and Stephen (Tammy) Childress of Macon, Ga.; step-sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin (Fran) Houston of Cumming, Ga. and Scott (Christy) Houston of Rocky Face; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Cynthia (David) Huggins of Loxley, Ala, and Rhonda (Keith) Cox of Little River, Ala. and nine grandchildren.

The Military Memorial Service, with full military honors, will be held Sunday, October 20, 2019 at 4 p.m. at Rocky Face Chapel with Rev. Tim Chaney officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday, October 20, 2019 from 2 until the service hour at 4 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Fellowship Bible Church, 2044 Dug Gap Road, Dalton, Georgia.

Melvin David Taber
Mr. Melvin David Taber, age 73, a native of Sikeston, MO and a resident of Atmore, Ala., passed away Monday, October 14, 2019 in Mobile, Ala. He was a welder for Clayton Fabrication in Sikeston for many years. He loved NASCAR. He loved to fish and spend time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lacy Burl and Eva Marie Taber; his brothers, Lindell Taber, Glenn Taber, Dwight Taber; his sister, Flossie Dale Taber; his son, Gary Taber.

Mr. Taber is survived by his children, Tracy Taber McGhee of Chunchula, Ala., Kevin Taber of Warrington, Mo.; his grandchildren, Regan McGhee, Kennedi McGhee, Connor McGhee, Fox Taber; his siblings, Judy Northcutt, Merlin Taber, Deanna Piel, Ruth Burch, Marlene Hartline, Shirley Coppage; his best friend, William Groves.

Memorial services will be held at Old Bethel Baptist Church in Sikeston, MO.

Pauline Viola Mininger Harms

Mrs. Pauline Viola Mininger Harms, age 96, passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at Oak Wood Manor, Brooksville, Miss. She was a homemaker. She was born in rural Gratiot County, Mich. to the late Emanuel and Hattie Freeman Mininger.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marshall Harms; one son-in-law, Howard Nickel; one granddaughter, Heidi Peaster; one great-grandson, Justin Dyck; four sisters; three sisters-in-law and four brothers-in-law.

Mrs. Harms is survived by three daughters, Jane (Newell) Mininger of Barron, Wisc., Nancy (Dwayne) Peaster of Brooksville, Janice (Merle) Koehn of Moundridge, Kans., presently serving at the Sarasota, Fla. Mission; one son, Terry (Judy) of Murray, Ky.; nineteen grandchildren; sixty-eight great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; thirteen step-great-grandchildren; nine step-great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Vada Seiler of Brooksville, Miss., Elgene Martinez of San Antonio, Texas; one brother, Bob Mininger of Moundridge; four sisters-in-law, Dorothy Benner of Brooksville, Ruth (David) Benner of Middleberry, Ind., Janis Harms of Daphne, Ala.. Thelma (Gerald) Boeckner of Walnut Hill, Fla.; one brother-in-law, Don Harms of Montezuma, Kans. along with numerous relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. from the Walnut Hill Mennonite Church with Rev. Mike Koehn, Rev. Galen Harms and Rev. Jamie Wedel officiating. Interment followed in Walnut Hill Memorial Gardens.

Active pallbearers were Chad Nickel, Van Nickel, Camron Peaster, Marwyn Peaster, Alston Koehn, Andrew Koehn, Arlin Koehn, and Sheldon Toews.

The family received friends Friday, October 18, 2019 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Walnut Hill Mennonite Church.

Stephen Eugene Masek

Mr. Stephen Eugene Masek, age 69, of Molino, Fla., passed away Sunday, October 20, 2019 at his residence.  He was a general contractor. He was born in Lincoln, Neb. to the late Floyd Eugene and Henrietta Otto Masek.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Masek is survived by one son, Michael Jason Masek of Ala.; two daughters,

Rachael Lynn Masek of Pensacola, Fla. and Stephanie Lee Masek of Molino; three brothers, Michael Carl Masek, Bruce Masek, and Nathan Paul Masek; two sisters, Melody Robertson and Bethanie Masek; three grandchildren, Ashley, Marcue, and Grace.

A private gathering will be held on the family farm at a later date.

Marvin Ray Richburg 

Richburg

Mr. Marvin Ray Richburg, age 79, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2019 in Pensacola, Fla. He was a native of Century, Fla. and had resided in the Cantonment, Fla. area since 1986. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict serving with the US Army retiring as Sgt. 1st Class with twenty-four years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved fishing and hunting and was of the Baptist Faith.

He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Hannelore Richburg; parents, Jim and Ruth Richburg; brother, James Roy Richburg and nephew, Jeremy Morris.

Mr. Richburg is survived by his wife of ten years, Paige Richburg of Cantonment; two sons, Marvin Franklin (Shari) Richburg of Granbury, Texas and Alford George Richburg of Milton, Fla.; one daughter, Patricia Paola (Rick) Wessel of Cantonment; one sister, Mary Buck of Atmore, Ala.; two grandchildren, Jon Michael Bowers and Eric Wayne Bowers; three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Tony Richburg officiating. Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 22, 2019 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Brockington Ardee Davis

Mr. Brockington Ardee Davis, age 54, of Oak Grove, Fla., passed away Sunday, October 20, 2019 in Oak Grove. He was born in Byrneville, Fla. and was an iron worker most of his life. He was a member of Beulah Chapel Assembly of God Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Brockington Davis and Edna Ruth Dunn and a brother Joseph Roy Adams.

Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Mary Freeman Davis of Oak Grove; two sons, Justin Wayne (Chelsa) Peebles of Perdido, Ala., Zachary Michael Davis of Perdido, Ala. and one daughter Natasha Nicole Peebles of Oak Grove; one brother, Jerry Lee Adams of Century, Fla.; six sisters Brandi Davis (Chris) Monaghan of Moring Sun, Iowa, Tammy Davis (John) Eister of Pensacola, Fla., Judy (Leon) Fleming of Crestview, Fla., Penny Kindrick of Century, Linda (Randy) Marinin and Mary (Scott) Lash, all of Loudonville, Ohio; two grandchildren, Colton and Huntleigh.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 24, 2019 at 11 a.m. from Beulah Chapel Assembly of God Church with Bro. Tim Floyd officiating. Burial will follow in Beulah Chapel Assembly of God Cemetery.

Leonard Ray “Pete” Hardy, Sr.

Mr. Leonard Ray “Pete” Hardy, Sr., age 76, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Monday, October
21, 2019 in Atmore. He was a retired farmer. He was born in Atmore to the late Joseph and Hattie Phillips Hardy.

He was preceded by his parents; two children, Wendy Michelle Hardy and Leonard
Ray Hardy, Jr.; two sisters, Lucille Zeringue, and Lois Hall; three brothers, Louie Hardy, Leslie Hardy and Lamar Hardy.

Mr. Hardy is survived by one daughter, Kim Rolin and a grandson, Coty (Brook) Rolin, all of Atmore; two great-grandchildren, Zhoie and Sadie Rolin; five sisters, Latisha Phillips, LaBetty (Gene) Singleton, Sarah (Hoyt) Coon, all of Atmore, Linda Garrick of N.C. and Lanette Hardy of Atmore; grand-puppy, Brodie; numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, October 24, 2019 at 3:30 p.m. in Oak Hill Cemetery with speaker Marlin Metzler officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Ernestine “Tina” Owens Mallard

Ms. Ernestine “Tina” Owens Mallard of Atmore, Ala. passed away Saturday, October 19, 2019 at The Park Place Nursing Home in Pensacola, Fla.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time but will be announced by Turner Funeral Chapel.

 

Horace Clayton Cunningham

Deacon Horace Clayton Cunningham, age 78, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Thursday, October 17, 2019 at Sacred Heart Hospice in Pensacola, Fla. He was a native of Monroeville, Ala. He attended Escambia County Training School. He was employed with Terra International Company for over 30 years. He was member of Jones Street True Pentecostal Holiness Church before he, by his wife’s side, founded Glory Tabernacle Church in Freemanville Community where he served as Deacon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Cunningham and Elizabeth Norman; a sister, Clara Stallworth Costic and a brother, John Henry Cunningham.

Deacon Cunningham is survived by his wife of over fifty years, Dr. Blanche James Cunningham of Atmore; two daughters, Nadine Cunningham – Bey of Pensacola and Tunya James Cooper of Atmore; two sisters, Minister Leslie (Murray) Hill and Evangelist Frances St. George, both of Atmore; one brother, Alfred Ingram, of Atmore; seven grandchildren; two great- grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Longmire – Jones Memorial Chapel with his wife, Dr. Blanche Cunningham officiating. Interment followed in Fairview Cemetery.

William D. Bell

Bell

Mr. William D. Bell, age 77, passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2019. He was born in Dallas County, Ala. and was a resident of Mobile, Ala. for over forty-six years. He worked in construction for many years. He was an avid fisherman, cook and bowler at his leisure. He began his Christian journey with baptism at a very early age at the Franklin Street Church of Christ in Selma, Ala. After his move to Mobile he worshipped with Andrew Street Church of Christ, but became a faithful and loyal member of Southside Church of Christ. He enjoyed leading song service, because singing was his passion.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Cecil Bell Carter; one sister, Minnie Lust and brother-in-law, Jimmie Lust.

Mr. Bell is survived by a devoted wife, Sarah Bell; two sons, William Bell, Jr. and Zachary (Sharon) York; one daughter, Kim Bell; two brothers, James (Lucille) Bell and Cecil Bell; one sister, Unita (Minister Charles) Orr; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, very close friends and his church family, South Side Church of Christ.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Southside Church of Christ, Mobile with Brother Ulysses Johnson, Officiating. Interment will follow in Whispering Pines, Mobile.

Elkanah Montgomery, Sr., native of Atmore, Ala., resident of Miami, Fla., passed away Sunday, October 13, 2019.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Stallworth Cemetery, Atmore.

Sheryl Ann Thomas-Martin

Mrs. Sheryl Ann Thomas-Martin, age 65, of Evergreen, Ala., passed away Monday, October 7, 2019. She was born to Cora Lee Thomas and the late Lavon Thomas.

She was preceded in death by her father; son, Nathaniel Morgan and two brothers, Lavon and Kenneth Thomas.

Mrs. Thomas-Martin is survived by her mother, Cora Thomas of Evergreen; husband, Robert Martin; three daughters, Natanya (Anthony J.) Johnson, Orlantha (Anthony M.) Morgan and Patricia Tomas; one brother, Perry (Renea) Thomas; three great-aunts, Mary Kyles, Gwen Pressley and Cynthia Butler; fifteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; four nephews;

Two nieces; great friend, Jackie Davenport and a host of family and friends.

Funeral services were held Thursday, October 17, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Christian Memorial Funeral Chapel, Evergreen, with Pastor Mitchell Herrin officiating. Interment followed in Westside Cemetery.

Ida Bell Harris Hall 

Mrs. Ida Bell Harris Hall, age 87, passed away Monday, October 21, 2019 in Atmore, Ala.
She was a native of Little River, Ala., former resident of Davisville, Fla. and had resided in Atmore since 1975. She spent her life as a homemaker and loving matriarch for her family. She was notorious for her selflessness and heart of gold for people and animals alike. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren where the joy of her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-eight years, Gordon Hall, Jr.; son, Frank Hall; parents; three brothers and three sisters.
Mrs. Hall is survived by her son, Rev. Ronald (Janice) Hall of Poarch, Ala.; daughter, Susie Hall of Canoe, Ala.; sister, Lillian “Bounce” Curry of Perdido, Ala.; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 24, 2019 at 10 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Waylan Stuckey and Rev. Ronald Hall officiating. Burial will follow at the Pine Barren Cemetery.
