United Bank President and CEO Robert R. Jones, III recently honored Community Photo Contest finalists at a reception held at the main branch in Atmore. The winners were announced and prizes awarded at the celebration.
“Photography is the art of observation,” Jones said. “Each photo has a story and exposes us to special places and an instant in time. These artists put their stories not into words but images. We are grateful to have them share their passion with all of us “
Photo and drone entries were accepted from May 15 through July 8, 2019, and included farms, landscapes, buildings and community scenes. With almost 200 entries representing Monroe, Escambia or Baldwin counties in Alabama; Santa Rosa or Escambia counties in Florida, the photos will be used in several areas of the bank including marketing and advertising as well as the annual bank calendar.
Photo finalists include Brian McMahon of Magnolia Springs; Ditto Gorme of Atmore; Forrest Funk of Saraland; Belinda McMullen of Vocation; Wendy Booker of Jay; Alisha Linam of McCullough; Allyson Black of Monroeville; Pia Gorme of Atmore; Kimberly Becker of Spanish Fort; Drew Giles of Loxley; Ashley Goins of Bay Minette; Aleah Carver of Summerdale; Camilla Parks of Bon Secour; and Gabe Gregory of Elberta.
Photo contest winners include Grand Prize – Pia Gorme of Atmore; First Place – Forrest Funk of Saraland; Second Place – Allyson Black of Monroeville; Third Place – Ditto Gorme of Atmore; President’s Award –Ditto Gorme of Atmore; and People’s Choice Award – Camilla Parks of Bon Secour.
In the 12 and Under Category, Gabe Gregory of Elberta won First Place, Camilla Parks of Bon Secour won Second Place, and Aleah Carver of Summerdale won Third Place.
In the Drone Video Category, Chase Jenkins of Jay was the First Place winner; Bill Arrington of Flomaton was the Second Place winner; and Jeff Amerson of Atmore was the Third Place winner.
