Bettie Ann Rolin
Mrs. Bettie Ann Rolin, age 75, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2019 in Atmore, Ala. She was a native and life-long resident of Atmore.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Laveda Thompson; son, Danny Rolin; grandson, Nicholas Rolin and great-granddaughter, Autumn Hastings.
Mrs. Rolin is survived by her son, Charles E. “Butch” (Lora) Rolin of Monroeville, Ala.; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Nanella L. “Nell” Marsh
Mrs. Nanella L. “Nell” Marsh, age 87, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2019 in Atmore. She was a homemaker. She was born in Canoe, Ala. to the late Walter F. and Lila Black Lowrey.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles A. Marsh; brothers, Eugene Lowrey, DeWitt Lowrey and Luther Glen Lowrey.
Mrs. Marsh is survived by two sons, Frankie (Tina) Marsh of Oak Grove, Fla. and Roger Marsh
of Atmore; grandchildren, Crystal (Kyle) Bazzelle, Justin (Brooke) Marsh, Morgan (Eric) Roberts; seven great-grandchildren, Olivia, Kyla, Christian, Parker, Peyton, Ella, and Reid.
Graveside services will be held Friday, August 9, 2019 at 10:45 a.m. at Canoe Methodist Church Cemetery with Bro. Ricky Tedder officiating.
Active pallbearers will be Buddy Lowrey, Gene Lowrey, Cole Lowrey, Kyle Bazzelle, Eric Roberts and Justin Marsh.
The family will receive friends Friday, August 9, 2019 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.

Eloise Hamilton Mothershed
Mrs. Eloise Hamilton Mothershed, age 82, of Atmore, Ala. passed away Friday, August 8, 2019 in Pensacola, Fla. She was born in Atmore to the late Eugene and Bertha Caraway Hamilton. She was retired from Vanity Fair.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles R. Mothershed; siblings, Claude Hamilton, Willie Floyd Hamilton and Ann Hamilton Troutman.
Mrs. Mothershed is survived by her children, Ricky (Heike) Mothershed of Stafford, Va.; Sherry (Shawn) Flynn of Pensacola and Rita Matzenger of Mobile, Ala.; her brother, Henry (Donna) Hamilton of Pensacola and a sister, Ruby Grimes of Pensacola; six grandchildren and one great- grandchild.
Funeral services were held Monday, August 12, 2019 at noon at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ricky Tedder officiating. Burial followed in Mothershed Cemetery.
The family received friends Monday, August 12, 2019 from 11 a.m. until noon from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Curtis Eugene “Shorty” Capers
Mr. Curtis Eugene “Shorty” Capers, age 35, of Perdido, Ala., passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2019 in Perdido. He was born in Houston, Texas to James Henry, Sr. and Patricia Capers.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Henry Capers, Sr.; step-father, Thomas Warren Watson; grandparents, Lucille Lambeth, Curtis George Capers, Henry Capers and Emily Capers.
Mr. Capers is survived by his mother, Patricia Capers Watson; brothers, Henry Capers Jerry (Toni) Capers, all of Perdido, Sambo Capers of Ill.; half-sister, Birdie Capers Parsons; four nieces; one nephew; one great-niece and numerous family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 15, 2019 at 11 AM from Dry Springs Church with Sister Helen Stewart, officiating. Interment will follow in Dry Springs Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Bill Bolter, K.J. Bolter, Austin Walker, Marcus McDowell, Cecil Bolter, and J. W. Philyaw.
The family will receive friends Thursday, August 15, 2019 from 10 until service time at 11 a.m. at Dry Springs Church.

Mr. Clifford Montgomery, age 55, of the Freemanville Community, passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at Saad Hospice in Mobile, Ala.

Joan Beatrice Simonds
Mrs. Joan Beatrice Simonds, age 76, passed away Sunday, August 11, 2019 in Atmore, Ala. She was a native and former resident of Washington, D.C., former resident of Ocala, Fla. and had resided in Flomaton, Ala. for the past 3 ½ years. She was career Army serving in the Vietnam Conflict, Desert Shield and Desert Storm, retiring as a chief Warrant Officer (CW04) with over thirty years of service. She was of the Catholic Faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Mazie Elizabeth Canter and husband, Robert L. Simonds.
Mrs. Simonds is survived by her son, Bruce Simonds of Fla.; one nephew, Eric Bryant of Ft. Payne, Ala.; two nieces, Pamela (Jeff) Shrewsbury of Flomaton. and Lisa Godwin of Damascus, Ala. and one sister, Mazie Bryant of Ft. Payne..
Memorial services will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery at a later date.
