News Staff Report
A few years ago, Pride of Atmore committee member Myrna Monroe held a salad luncheon with proceeds benefiting the group’s downtown revitalization project.
At that time, she sold tickets to the banks who treated their employees to lunch. Another luncheon is planned, and this time, tickets are available to everyone.
In their continuing fund-raising efforts, the Pride of Atmore committee is hosting Myrna’s Salad Luncheon Monday, June 24, 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., First Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall.
“We’ll have a wide variety of salads,” Myrna said. “It’s surprising how many different salads members of the POA committee are coming up with. The ticket includes salad and a drink, and maybe even a slice of homemade pound cake.”
Tickets ($10 each) are available from any Pride of Atmore committee member or at Atmore News, 128 S. Main Street.
Other members of the Pride committee are Bub Gideons, Foster Kizer, Mandie Thompson, Emily Wilson, Cindy Colville, Dale Ash, Pete Amerson, Leslie Henderson, Tom Tschida, Susan Tuthill, Susan Hayes, Sandy Helton, Jonathan Thompson, Scott Benton, Missie Tschida, Jonathan Barnes, Keiana White, Loumeek White, Lillie Johnson, and Valerie Spencer.
As in the past, proceeds from this luncheon will benefit POA downtown revitalization.
