News Staff Report
You may remember the movie with Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon, or you may remember the television series with Jack Klugman and Tony Randall. If you watched “The Odd Couple” on the big screen or the small screen, you probably enjoyed Felix and Oscar.
Now you can see them on stage. The Greater Escambia Council for the Arts is presenting “The Odd Couple” in May.
Director Ellen Johnson provided this information: Two suddenly single pals – a sloppy sportswriter (Oscar) and an obsessively clean news writer (Felix) – strain their friendship by becoming roommates and unconsciously making the same mistakes they made in their recently-ended marriages. Hilarity ensues as air purifiers, homemade BLTs, and coasters take over the weekly poker game and Oscar’s life. This show is a classic Neil Simon comedy, full of witty dialogue and situational humor.

Felix – Cade Vickery
Murray – Phil Johnson
