Greetings to all: If you or anyone you know participated in a band program, please consider the Escambia County Community Band. Please “like” our Facebook page and make a comment. Albritton named to Troy Chancellor’s List

Nelia Albritton of Atmore has been named to the Chancellor’s List at Troy University for Term 3 of the 2017/2018 academic year. The Chancellor’s List honors full-time undergraduate students who are registered for at least 12 semester hours and who earn a grade point average of 4.0.

County youth excel at Junior Beef Expo

Two Escambia County young men brought home ribbons in the 60th Alabama Junior Beef Expo (JBE) March 15-17, held inside Teague Arena on the Garrett Coliseum grounds in Montgomery. Colbie English took fifth in the Class 13 Intermediate Division Showmanship competition. Rowdy Rutherford placed sixth in the Class 10 Intermediate Division Showmanship competition. Southeastern Indian Festival April 4-6

Poarch Band of Creek Indians will host its sixth annual Southeastern Indian Festival, a three-day showcase of Native American culture and history, April 4-6 on the PCI reservation. The chief executive officer for Ramey’s Inc. confirmed this week that the company has reached an agreement with Southeastern Grocers to purchase the assets of Atmore’s Winn Dixie store.
