Jean Daniels Steadham

Mrs. Jean Daniels Steadham, age 71, passed away Monday, December 10, 2018 at her home in Atmore, Ala. She was a native and life-long resident of Atmore. She owned and operated Jean Daniels Cosmetology of Atmore and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Atmore.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin D. and Estelle Reynolds and two brothers, Tony Reynolds and Bronzie Reynolds.

Mrs. Steadham is survived by her husband of thirteen years, Charles Steadham of Atmore; two sons, Derwin Dale (Cynthia) Daniels of Biloxi, Miss. and Dover Dwight Daniels of Atlanta, Ga.; two sisters, Adelia White of Byrneville, Fla. and Patricia Reynolds of Kentucky; two grandchildren, Miranda Michelle Adkinson and Anthony Dwight Daniels and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Elder. Gene Freeland officiating. Burial followed at Byrneville Cemetery.

The family received friends Wednesday, December 12, 2018 from 11:30 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Tommy Smith, Timmie Smith, Johnny Mac Steadham, Van Cooley, Roger Hadley and Tommy Rolin.

Esther Mae Creamer

Mrs. Esther Mae Creamer, age 89, passed away Saturday, December 15, 2018 in Century, Fla. She was a native of Wallace, Ala. and had resided in Century most of her life. She was a member of the Faith Bible Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Odis and Stella Barrow; husband of thirty-seven years, Ervin Creamer and three brothers, Eugene Barrow, Jack Barrow and Frank Barrow.

Mrs. Creamer is survived by one son, Floyd Creamer of Miss.; one daughter, Sue (Tony) Nolen of Century; two brothers, Roger (Winnie) Barrow of Dayton, Ohio and Gary (Jean) Barrow of Century; four grandchildren, Olivia Nolen, Zoe Creamer, Maddie Creamer and Abigail Creamer; two great-grandchildren, Bryson Moore and Braxton Moore and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Barrow officiating. Burial will follow at Rock Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday, December 17, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Tony Nolen, Jeff Nolen, Steve Creamer, Donald Godwin, Randy Murph and Joe Brown.

Phillip Wayne Godwin             

Mr. Phillip Wayne Godwin, age 74, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2018 in Pensacola, Fla.

He was a native of Flomaton, Ala. and resided most of his life in Fannie, Fla. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict serving with the U.S. Army and was a lifetime member of the Blue Branch Hunting Club. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Buford and Mary Frances Godwin; wife of fifty-years years, Paulette Godwin and sister, Vivian Clarice Watson.

Mr. Godwin is survived by two sons, Marcus (Allison) Godwin and Brandon Godwin, all of Century; one daughter, Lisa Godwin (Daniel) Hoomes of Fannie; four brothers, Frank Godwin, Jerry (Linda) Godwin and Danny (Enola) Godwin, all of Century and Randall (Tammy) Godwin of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; one sister, Barbara (Aubrey) Carroll of Ponce de Leon, Fla.; one brother-in-law, Billy Watson of Milton, Fla. and four grandchildren, Hunter Godwin, Shelton Blair, Lucas Blair and Colby Graham.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Glen Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Pineview Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 18, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Hunter Godwin, Sherman Glover, Eddie Dunsford, Jeff Carroll, Chris Carroll and Booney Hoomes.

Johnny Braddock Mothershed

Mr. Johnny Braddock Mothershed, age 54, passed away Thursday, December 13, 2018 in Mobile, Ala. He was a native and life-long resident of Atmore, Ala. He was a member of the Church of the Living God of Atmore.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Frederick and Gladys Luverne Mothershed; nephew, Dyan Blake Barnhill; three aunts and four uncles.

Mr. Mothershed is survived by three sons, Capt. Dexter (Candius) Donnell of Huntsville, Ala., Johnny (Kaleigh) Donnell of McDavid, Fla. and Deputy Skyler (Allison) Donnell of Jay, Fla.; one daughter, Hillary Donnell Mothershed of Atmore, AL; two sisters, Dean (Rusty) Hodges .and Freddie Bowen, all of Atmore; nine grandchildren, Hayden Donnell, Hydee Donnell, Harlon Donnell, Porter Donnell, Emerson Donnell, Luke Donnell, Destiny Lynn, Felicity Lynn and Angelina Lynn; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Earl Harrison officiating. Burial will follow at Mothershed Cemetery.

Gloria Virginia Long Cunningham

Mrs. Gloria Virginia Long Cunningham, age 86, passed away Friday, December 14, 2018 at her home in Atmore, Ala. She was a native and life-long resident of Atmore. She retired from Vanity Fair with thirty-three years of service. She was an avid sewer. She was of the holiness faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Bernard Cunningham; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chris C. Long and two brothers, J.D. Long and Charles Mabry Long.

Mrs. Cunningham is survived by one son, Larry Bruce Cunningham; three daughters, Debra Smith an Sherry Lambert, both of Atmore and Rita (Rick) Combs of Perdido, Ala.; one brother, Tommy C. Long of Crystal Springs, Miss.; six grandchildren, Julie Howell, Jamie Howell, Tyson Lambert, Blake Cunningham, Norman “Bobo” Lambert, Jr. and Dillon Smith; ten great-grandchildren, Braleigh, Raelyn, Adrienne, Treagan, Kaydence, Blakelynn, Marlee, Caleb, Cody and Clark.

 

Funeral services were held Monday, December 17, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Joe White officiating. Burial followed at the Serenity Garden Cemetery.

The family received friends Monday, December 17, 2018 from 10 .M. until service time at 11 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Jamie Howell, Trent Flowers, Corey Flowers, Bill Walker, Cameron Murphy and Adam Barnhill.
