Elizabeth Mitchelle of Atmore was crowned the overall queen in the Sunburst Miss Merry Christmas pageant at Santa Rosa Mall Saturday, December 1.
She will participate in semi-finals in Orlando Memorial Day weekend. If successful there, Elizabeth will advance to finals in Atlanta in August.
Judging is based on beauty and personality. Contestants compete for the opportunity to win $10,000, $5,000, $2,000, $1,000, $500 savings bonds and other gifts.
Elizabeth, daughter of Reville and Dr. Priscilla Durand Mitchelle, attends Escambia County Middle School in Atmore.
Her parents give God the glory for her success thus far and for success in future pageants.
