Chiefs chain the Bulldogs

Headed to playoffs this Friday

Things are looking good for the Northview High School Chiefs. With a Friday night victory of 49-21 over the Freeport Bulldogs, the Chiefs now have a spot in the first round of the playoffs against Graceville High School, whose record is 3-5. The Chiefs also will have home field advantage.
“If we play this Friday night like we did last Friday night, we will come out on top,” senior lineman Matt Caine said. “We can do this.”
First quarter touchdowns were from sophomore Jayden Jackson and junior Aunterio Minor. Jackson again came in with 2 touchdowns in the second quarter.
Rayvon Bush helped set things up offensively for the Chiefs when he intercepted during the first half. The Chiefs kept the lead the entire game with a 42-7 going into the half. Damerion Findley also came in with a Chiefs touchdown before the half.
“It was an exciting half,” Assistant Coach Tyler Reeves said. “We really felt confident when we went in for half-time.”
Senior quarterback and Kicker Seth Killam added the final touchdown for the Chiefs, making the score 49-21, when he intercepted and returned for a touchdown. Defensive standouts were many. Joseph Parker finished the night with 5 tackles and 2 tackles for loss. Lance McLaughlin had 11 total tackles.
The win now propels the Chiefs into the playoffs this Friday night against Freeport. Get ready for a battle. See you at 7 p.m.!
