Robert Haskew Middleton

 

Mr. Robert Haskew Middleton, Sr., age 97, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2018 in Fairhope, Ala. He was a retired salesmen.  He was born in Pineapple, Ala. to the late James Lambert and Phenie Owens Middleton. He served in the U. S. Army as a WWII Veteran and was member of the American Legion Post 90 in Atmore giving seventy-five Years of Service. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Atmore.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gladys Middleton; grandson, Will Middleton and a brother, Zolon Middleton.
Mr. Middleton is survived by a son, Bob (Linda) Middleton of Gulf Shores, Ala.;
a daughter, Pam (Pat Rowan) Middleton of Irvington, N.Y.; two grandchildren;
Jill (Bryan) Arnold and Adam Middleton; great-grandson; Will Middleton.
Funeral services were held Friday, October 19, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. from the First Baptist
Church of Atmore with Rev. Arnold Hendrix officiating. Interment followed in Oak Hill Cemetery with full Military Honors.
The family received friends Thursday, October 18, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Johnson-
Quimby Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers were Chuck Brooks, Mickey Cannon, Kevin Madden, Billy Conn Madison, Bubba Meredith and Mac Seibert.

Honorary pallbearers were members of American Legion Post 90.

Charlene Pugh

Mrs. Charlene Pugh, age 49, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Friday, October 19, 2018 at her residence. She was employed by Atmore Community Hospital in the purchasing department. She was born in Escambia County, Ala. to Jimmy Eugene and Margaret Ann Jones Jay.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Ann Jones Bryars and a step-son, Aaron Jake Pugh
Mrs. Pugh is survived by her husband, Larry Lynn Pugh, Sr. of Atmore; father, Jimmy Eugene Jay of Atmore; two sons, Matthew K. (Brittany) Luker of Atmore and Larry Lynn (Micaela) Pugh, Jr of Flomaton, Ala.; five brothers, Randal Eugene (Joyce) Jay of Davisville, Fla., Ronald Wayne (Martha) Jay of Bay Minette, Ala., James Roger (Amanda) Jay of Atmore, Ala., Robin Earle (Stephne) Jay of Pensacola, Fla. and Jeffrey (Meg) Diedtrich of Atlanta, Ga.; two sisters, Linda Johnson (Chris) Phillips of Uriah, Ala. and Sharon (Todd) Stearns of Brewton, Ala.; grandchildren, Cadyn Blake Luker, Kysun Alexzander Luker, Kaliyan Luker, Kyler Pugh and Avery Pugh.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 22, 2018 at noon at \ Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Chris Pruitt officiating. Interment followed in Oak Hill Cemetery.
The family received friends Monday, October 22, 2018 from 10:30 a.m. until service time at noon at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Nancy Lee Barbarow

Mrs. Nancy Lee Barbarow, age 72, passed away Friday, October 19, 2018 at her home in Perdido, Ala. She was a native of Atmore, Ala. and has resided in Perdido for the past eighteen years. She was of the holiness faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Barbarow; daughter, Tammy Carpenter; son, Robert Flowers; granddaughter, Brittney Pace; two sisters, Mary Roberson and Daisy Colvin and four brothers.

Mrs. Barbarow is survived by her two sons, James Malcolm (Cheryl) Harrelson of Perdido and Michael (Shauna) Harrelson of Atmore, AL; two daughters, Debra Diane Boatwright and Susan Renee (Ronnie) Paul, all of Perdido; two brothers, Wilburn Cecil Boutwell of Oregon and Chester Eugene Boutwell of Perdido; three sisters, Lucille Wright of Evergreen, Ala., Shirley Barbee of Mobile, Ala. and Christine Long of Canoe, Ala.; fourteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday, October 21, 2018 at 2 p.m. at New Hope Community Church with Rev. J.P. Lambeth and Rev. Malcolm Harrelson officiating. Burial followed at Traveler’s Rest Cemetery.

The family received friends Sunday, October 21, 2018 from 11 a.m. until service time at 2 p.m. at New Hope Community Church.

Pallbearers were Dudley Flowers, Kevin Flowers, Shawn Boutwell, Brandon McNeil, Michael Harrelson, Myles Harrelson and Anthony Harrelson.

Margaret Catherine Gollotte

Mrs. Margaret Catherine Gollotte, age 75, of Mobile, Ala., passed away Thursday, October 18, 2018 in Mobile. She was a native of Uriah, Ala. and has resided in Mobile for the past fifty-three years. She was a member of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints of Goodway, Ala. She was the assistant manager for the Meadowlake Elementary School in Mobile, where she was known as “Granny”.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Vicie Lou Gregson; son, Stanford D’Wayne Gollotte; four brothers and four sisters.

Mrs. Gollotte is survived by her husband of fifty-seven years, Stanford W. Gollotte of Mobile,; one son, Brian Keith Gollotte of Mobile; two daughters, Catherine Walker of Theodore, Ala. and Margaret Charlene Allen of Irvington, Ala.; two sisters, Eloise Lassitter of Booneville, Ala. and Doris (Duck) Phillips of Uriah, Ala.; fourteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; special friend, Leasha Martin of Atmore, Ala. and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Trevor Daughtry and Rev. Jerry Sanchez officiating. Burial followed at Poplar Springs Cemetery.

The family received friends Tuesday, October 23, 2018 from 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Todd Walker, Tyler Walker, Shannon Gregson, Keiden Gollotte, Matt Gollotte and Donovan Gollotte.

Tamoka D. Norman      

Norman

Ms. Tamoka D. Norman, age 45, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Thomas Hospital in Fairhope, Ala. She was a native and lifelong resident of Atmore. She as was a 1992 graduate of Escambia County High School and Jefferson Davis Community College with an Associate Degree in Business Administration. She had worked as a machine operator at Masland Carpets and a clerk with Diamond Oil Co.  She was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. She was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan.

Ms. Norman is survived by her son, Darrius L. Norman of Atmore; mother and step-father, Annie L. (Lawrence) Norman Dandridge of Atmore; one brother, Javaris A. Norman of Atmore; aunts, uncles, niece, cousins, and friends.

Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, October. 27, 2018 at noon at Empowerment Tabernacle Christian Center-Atmore with Rev. Michael Wilson, Sr., Pastor of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, officiating and Bishop Darryl North – Host Pastor. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday, October 26, 2018 from 2 – 7 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home. Her remains will lie in repose at the church for one hour prior to the funeral service. Turner Funeral Chapel LLC in charge of all arrangements.

 

Cecil Perry Hudson, Sr.

Mr. Cecil Perry Hudson, Sr., age 68, of Atmore, Ala. (Freemanville), passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at West Florida Hospital in Pensacola, Fla. A native of Monroe County, he was a resident of Atmore most of his life. He attended school in Escambia Co. and worked as a farmer and logger. He enjoyed fishing and story-telling and he loved entertaining his grandchildren. As he begin to experience health problems he could be seen riding his motorized wheelchair all across the Freemanville Community.

Mr. Hudson is survived by his wife of thirty years, Jerlynne Smiley Hudson of Atmore; three daughters, Vonda Leslie Bynum and Caryn (Kyler) Carter, both of Atmore and Tracey McNeil of Detroit, Mich.; one son, Cecil P. (Elsie) Hudson, Jr. of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two sisters, Minnie L. Hudson of Atmore (McCullough Community) and Barbara Ann Hudson of Hobart, Ind.; two brothers, James (Alberta) Hudson and Sammy (Margaret) Hudson, all of Atmore; five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Longmire-Jones Memorial Chapel of Turner Funeral Chapel with Elder Edgar McCarthy, Pastor, Faith Tabernacle Holiness Church -Atmore (Freemanville) officiating. Interment followed in Fairview Cemetery. TURNER

Robert Louis “Smiley” Coleman

Mr. Robert Louis “Smiley” Coleman, age 71, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Wednesday, October, 10, 2018 at the Atmore Nursing Care Center. He was a native and lifelong resident of Atmore. “Smiley” as he was affectionately called by all who knew him was a hardworking, dedicated, caring person. He was one of the best when it came to maintaining flower beds and cutting. He was a faithful member of Mt. Gillead Baptist Church (Freemanville) and attended Escambia County Training School.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.

Mr. Coleman is survived by a devoted niece, Celia (Carl) Staples of Atmore and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Mt. Gillead Baptist Church with Elder Edgar McCarthy – Eulogist and Rev. Gary Bryant- Pastor. Interment followed in Pierce, Rabb, and Montgomery Cemetery (Freemanville).

Anna Lucile Sells

Mrs. Anna Lucile Sells, age 89, passed away Sunday, October 21, 2018 at her home in Poarch, Ala.  She was a native of Bay Springs, Fla. and has resided in Poarch most of her life. She was a proud member of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton “Half” Sells; son, Melvin James Sells; step-son, Van Ike Sells; mother, Viola Jackson; grandson, Eric Rolin; great-grandson, Ethan Warden; four brothers and three sisters.

Mrs. Sells is survived by her two sons, Billy Glen (Betty) Sells of Cantonment, Fla. and Milton Darrell (Mary Jane) Sells of McCullough, Ala.; four daughters, Hattie Louise Knowles of Poarch, Pandora (Frank) Andrews of Atmore, Ala., Vicky (Douglas) Burns of Perdido, Ala. and Tera (Frankie) Coon of McCullough; three sisters-in-law, Mable Jackson, Joyce Ann Jackson and Martha Jane Jackson, all of Poarch; twenty grandchildren; forty great-grandchildren; fourteen great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 25, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Keith Lisenby officiating. Burial will follow at New Home Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 24, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Mr. Robert Earl Lee, age 62, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at his residence.

Elouise Square

Mrs. Elouise Square, age 75, of Brewton, Ala., passed away Sunday, October 14, 2018. She was born to the late Marvin and Verna Godbolt and attended Boykin School. She moved to New York City where she worked in the medical field. She was a member of St. James Baptist Church serving as secretary, assistant Sunday school teacher and other areas as needed.

She was prece3ded in death by one grandson, Chason Godbolt and nine Siblings, Marvin Godbolt, Lillie B. Godbolt, Nathaniel Godbolt, Hannah Godbolt, Jennie Grice, Donald Allen, Annie Ruth Davidson, James Allen and Carolyn Samuel.

Mrs. Square is survived by three children, Willie Fred Godbolt, Margaret Betts and James Earl (Angela) Square who preceded her in death; two granddaughters, Amber Godbolt and LaKeshia Betts; three sisters, Mary G. Nearer, Mary Emma Spears and Essie Bell Robinson; one brother, Roshell (Patricia) Allen; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; one special fried, Sara Pearl Brooks.

Funeral services were held Saturday, October 20, 2018 at noon at Second Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, Brewton with Rev. Matthew Coleman, Pastor and Minister John Hodoh, eulogist. Interment followed in Second Bethlehem Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers were nephews and friends.

Hubert Sydney Reed

Mr. Hubert Sydney Reed, age 78, passed away Sunday, October 21, 2018 at his home in Bay Minette, Ala. He was a native of Washington County, Ala. and has resided in Bay Minette for the past forty-four years. He was retired from Piggly Wiggly as manager with over twenty years of service and was an avid golfer. He was a member of the Full Power Holiness Church in Bay Minette.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. J.C. Reed and Mary Reed and siblings, Carl Reed and Irma Lee Partin.
Mr. Reed is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Jeral Dean Buckhault Reed of Bay Minette; three children, Hubert S. (Daphne) Reed, Jr. and Felisa Reed (Lenzy) Williams,all of Bay Minette and Jason Carl (Ashley) Reed of Perdido, Ala.; eight siblings, Virginia Fillingham of Mobile, Ala., Joann Chastang, Norma Jernigan, Charlene Sullivan and Larry Reed,  all of Foley, Ala., Myrtice Wilson of Mobile, Ala., Otis Reed of Bay Minette, Ala., J.C. Reed of Atlanta, Ga.; seven grandchildren, Allie (Matt) Shackelford, Carlie Reed, Sydney Reed, Emily Williams, Jas Reed, Mary Kinsley Reed and Layne Tip Reed and five great-grandchildren, Blayne Shackelford, Jordyn Shackelford, Mattie Shackelford, Ellie Shackelford and Baby B.

Charlotte Yvonne Moye

Mrs. Charlotte Yvonne Moye, age 63, passed away Friday, October 19, 2018. She was a native of Century, Fla. and resided in the Brewton-Flomaton, AL area most of her life. She was a member of the Flomaton Pentecostal Holiness Church.

She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Courtney Pridgen.

Mrs. Moye is survived by husband, Curtis Moye of Brewton, Ala.; one son, Ronald Moye of Byrneville, Fla.; two daughters, Daphne (Jeremy) Pridgen and Tonya (Matthew) Rolin, all of Flomaton; two brothers, Mike Turner of Theodore, Ala. and Steve (Angie) Turner of Byrneville, Fla.; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Al Bethea officiating. Burial will follow at Traveler’s Rest Cemetery.
