Donald Gordon Stewart
Mr. Donald Gordon Stewart, age 80, passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at his residence in Bay Minette, Ala. He was native of Rabun, Ala. and has resided in Bay Minette for most of his life. He was a member of Crossroads Church of God.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Christopher and Elvis Stewart and three sisters.
Mr. Stewart is survived by his wife of forty-seven years, Barbara Mayo Stewart of Bay Minette; five daughters, Shannon (Shane) Caraway of Atmore, Ala., Kristen (Jessie) Peacock of Whitehouse Fork, Ala., Heather (Lorne) Powell of Crossroads, Ala., Karen (Bobby) Wood of Pensacola, Fla. and Andrea (Rusty) Roberson of Barnett Crossroads, Ala.; one son, Lionel (Maranie) Rider of Whitehouse Fork; one brother, Roy (Frances) Stewart of Stockton, Ala.; twenty grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, August 24, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Sowell and Rev. Randal Short officiating. Burial followed at Lottie New Home Cemetery.
The family received friends Thursday, August 23, 2018 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Chase Rider, Brandon Rider, Brennen Stewart, Braeden Patton, Hayden Peacock and Caleb Powell.
Honorary pallbearers were Donnie Powell and Chris Stewart.

Belinda Boutwell Hudson
Mrs. Belinda Boutwell Hudson, age 57, passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at her home in Perdido, Ala. She was a native of Century, Fla., former resident of Bay Minette, Ala. and has resided in Perdido for the past two years. She was a member of Rabun New Testament Church.
She was preceded in death by her father and step-mother, James and Donna Boutwell; mother and step-father, Levis and Jerry Davis and two sisters, Vicki B. Knighten and Leona Boutwell.
Mrs. Hudson is survived by her husband of twenty-one years, Homer “Bo” Hudson of Perdido; one son, Patrick Huer of Atmore, Ala.; three daughters, Shannon Boutwell of Atmore, Leslie Boutwell of Bay Minette and Nichole Hudson of Stapleton, Ala.; one brother, Jerry Davis, Jr. of Uriah, Ala.; three sisters, Gwen B. Chastang of Mobile, Ala., Mary (Donald) Woods of Atmore and Sharon (Mitch) Johnson of Huxford, Ala.; twelve grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Rabun New Testament Church with Rev. Bubba Rolin officiating. Burial followed at Johnson Cemetery.
The family received friends Friday, August 24, 2018 from 6 p.m. until service time at 10 a.m. at Rabun New Testament Church.
Pallbearers were Danny Reid, Charlie Cooper, Jason Hadley, Allen Hall, Tony Cooper and Zirre McDale.
Honorary pallbearer was Chris Cooper.

James Windham Norris
Mr. James Windham Norris, age 83, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Friday, August 24, 2018 in Atmore. He was born in Atmore to the late Johnnie Ervin and Cassie Dean Hobbs Norris. He worked in sales with Alabama Power and R.P. McDavid Company. He retired from the Army National Guard.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Bobby Norris.
Mr. Norris is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years, Nan Reia Wise Norris of Atmore; three daughters, Tina (Scott) Brooks of Atmore; Rene` (Lamar) Godwin of Oak Grove, Fla. and Michelle Norris of Milton, Fla.; grandchildren, Zachary Brooks, Norris (Rebecca) Brooks, Ethan (Katie) Brooks, Allie Brooks, Cassie (Stephan) Skelton and Olivia Godwin; great- grandchildren, Riley Brooks, Wyatt Brooks, Blakely Skelton, Sanders Skelton and Evee June Miller.
Funeral services were held Sunday, August 26, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. from Brooks Memorial Baptist Church with Bro. Robert Heard officiating. Burial followed in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Scott Brooks, Zach Brooks, Norris Brooks, Ethan Brooks, Lamar Godwin and Terre McGill.

Wylonette “Lynn” Etheridge
Mrs. Wylonette “Lynn” Etheridge, age 74, resident of Saraland, Ala., passed away Friday, August 24, 2018. She was born in Canoe, Ala. to the late Ellie Monroe “Buck” Rowell and Janie E. Rowell.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, George Almas Rowell.
Mrs. Etheridge is survived by her husband of fifty-five years, Wenton “Bill” Etheridge of Saraland; son, Paul Etheridge (Angie) of Saraland; daughters, Kimberly Jones (Kerman), Amy Baxter (Franklin), both of Auburn, Ala.; nephew, George Rowell of Saraland; grandchildren, Nichole Dunklin (Michael), Wesley Etheridge (Gabby), Kalli Jones, Konnor Jones, Sidney Baxter, and Maggie Baxter; great-grandchildren, Seth Dunklin, Brianna Dunklin, Raelyn Dunklin and Talitha Etheridge; siblings, Claudia Bradford, Ann James, Quinton Rowell, and Pauline Olson.

Mr. Marvin Dewayne Stallworth, age 50, of Brewton, Ala., passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at his residence. He was a local Atmore, Ala. mail carrier with the United States Post Office.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 10 a.m. from Greater Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, Brewton, Ala.

Gerald Michael “Jerry” Bynum
Mr. Gerald Michael “Jerry” Bynum, age 62, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at his residence. He was born in Century, Fla. to the late Willie L. Bynum, Sr. and Mary Alice Bynum. He was a 1973 graduate of Escambia County High School. Upon graduation, he entered the U.S. Army where he served his country for 8 years. He was known throughout the community and would help many in his neighborhood. He was a loyal worker who assisted the Flower’s family for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Eloise Hooks and Linda “Judy” Bynum Welker; one brother, Nelson Bynum and his grandparents.
Mr. Bynum is survived by his children, Gerald Michael Bynum, Jr., Shanela Holmes, Jelani Bynum, and Taneisha Vaughan; four sisters, Ruthie (David) Deese, Kadren Bynum, Mary Ann Cottle, and Martha Ingram; four brothers, Willie “Billy” Bynum, Jr., Quinton Bynum, Vincent Bynum, and Ericke Jason Bynum; grandchildren; an aunt, Shirley Ann McDowell, nieces, nephews, cousins, a devoted friend, Paul Ikner, and friends.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Empowerment Tabernacle Christian Center with Bishop Willie L. Williams – Eulogist and Bishop Darryl North – Host Pastor. Interment will follow in Stallworth Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday, August 31, 2018 from 2 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home. His remains will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.

Juanita “Nita” Hill Bell
Mrs. Juanita “Nita” Hill Bell, age 72, of Miami, Fla., formerly of Atmore, Ala., passed away suddenly Sunday, August 19, 2018 at Jackson Community Hospital in Miami. She was a native of Camden, Ala. and was reared in Atmore where she was a graduate of Ebenezer Lutheran Church. She was also a graduate of Alabama Lutheran Academy and College. She received her B.S. degree from Concordia Teacher’s College in Seward, Neb. Upon graduation, Mrs. Hill-Bell began teaching at Trinity Lutheran School in Montgomery, Ala. where she taught for over twenty years. After relocating to Miami, she continued her teaching career at Mt. Olive Lutheran School and St. Paul Lutheran School, both in Miami. She received many awards and recognition of 25 and 30 years of ministering in Lutheran Education and was the recipient of the The Ben Eggers Outstanding Lutheran Educator Award presented by the Florida-Georgia Lutheran District.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry “Hank” Bell and her parents, William and Lizzie Mae Hill.
Mrs. Hill-Bell is survived by a devoted niece, Shanta Bowen and grand-nephew, Kyle C. Jackson, both of Miami, whom she considered as her own children; three sisters, Barbara Ann (Herman) Williams of Detroit, Mich., Elaine Martin and Geraldine Brown of Atmore; three brothers, Joe Richard (Bessie Mae) Hill of Atmore, Rogers (Irma) Martin of Camden and Randy (Angela) Martin of Lansing, Mich.; six step-children, Donna, Vincent, Fran, Phillip, Lisa, and Lori Bell and a step-grandson, Charles Bell; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, God-children, and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Ebenezer Lutheran Church – Atmore with Rev. Ulmer Marshall – Eulogist and Rev. Benjamin Stallworth, Sr. – Host Pastor. Interment followed in Fairview Cemetery.

Stephen Bradley “Reed” Longmire
Mr. Stephen Bradley “Reed” Longmire, age 51, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Thursday, August 16, 2018. He was born in Atmore to the late Steven Longmire and mother, Betty Longmire. He was a 1986 graduate of Escambia County High School. He was a member of God’s Temple of Deliverance. He was renowned for his baking specialties and was a skillful pianist serving a short term as musician for the Faith Tabernacle Holiness Church. He enjoyed all sports and traveling. He was employed with the Escambia Board of Education in transportation and with Winn-Dixie.
He was preceded in death by his father, Steven Longmire, Sr.; grandparents, Jessie and Margie Bradley, Elizabeth Williams and Walter Blackmon.
Mr. Longmire is survived by his mother, Betty Longmire of Atmore; siblings, Debra (Roscoe) Shoemaker of Atmore, Morgan Simmons of Brewton, Ala., Terrance Carter, Sr., Antwain Longmire, Sr. and Vincent Longmire, Sr.; nieces and nephews whom he treated as his own children, Makeyia, Jasmine and Jazzlynn; nephews, Demetrous, Caleb, Terrance, Jr., Antwain, Jr., Vincent, Jr. and Amar’e; special and devoted family and friends, Yvette Webster, Paula Adams, Melvin Byrd, Louis White, Jonathan Barnes, Celia Betts, Shemina Reynolds, Christy Nall and Boise Odom; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Martha Rae Brown
Ms. Martha Rae Brown, age 61, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Saturday, August 18, 2018. She was born in Atmore to Ruby Lee Brown and O. C. Burston. She was a 1978 graduate of Escambia County High School. She was a faithful member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church. She had been employed with Flower Nursery, Atmore Community Hospital and Wind Creek Casino and enjoyed the entertainment at Wind Creek. Her ultimate joy was listening to Nikki Demarks all blues Saturday.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jerry Brown; nephew, Trenton Earl Brown; grandmother, Mattie Hawkins; aunts, Ruth Phillips, Rosa Dailey and Marie Hawkins.
Ms. Brown is survived by two daughters, Ketoria Brown and Detara Brown; grandchildren, Keria Brown (devoted), Nicholas Graves, Ny Deidra Brown, Natoria Brown and Kimora Watson; great-grandson, A’Mir Dixon; sisters, Tony Denise Brown; cousins as sisters, Teresa Phillips, Shan Brown and JoAnn Brown; brothers, Kenneth (Glenda) Brown Jerry (Jeanette) Brown and Gary Brown; best friends, Carolyn “Bunk” Carter and devoted friends, Mary Shoemaker and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
