Jacqueline Lee “Jackie” Minor Sellers

Mrs. Jacqueline Lee “Jackie” Minor Sellers, age 87, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2018 in Atmore, Ala. She was a native of Lafayette, Ind. and has resided in Atmore since 1973. She was a member of Easter Star 50 + years and Brooks Memorial Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Roy L. and Marcia A. Minor; two sisters, Lucile M. Hilt and Wanda M. Dougherty and one brother, Aubrey O. Minor.

She is survived by her husband, Aubrey Glenn “Tobe” Sellers of Atmore; sons, Gary Michael and Myra Sellers of Prattville, Ala., Steve Alan and Kim Royal of Clearwater, Fla., Kent W. and Kathi Royal of Brandon, Fla.; three grandsons; two granddaughters; one great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews;  special niece and nephew, Tommy and Vickey Sellers of Gulf Shores, Ala..

Funeral services were held Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Brooks Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Heard officiating. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery.

The family received friends Saturday, July 28, 2018 from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. at Brooks Memorial Baptist Church.

Pallbearers were Bill Hostetler, Cecil Ellis, James Helton, Gary Hare, Jack Sharpless and Hubert Brown.

Honorary pallbearers were Marcia Hostetler, Carlton Sharpless, Virginia Sharpless, Betty Sharpless, Marilyn Ellis, Mable Hogan, Nell Brown, Donna Ferguson and Dot Allen.

Edward “Junior” Cobb 

Cobb

Mr. Edward “Junior” Cobb, age 76, of Uriah, Ala., passed away Friday, July 27, 2018. He was a native of Pensacola, Fla. and former resident of Megargel, Ala. and has resided in Uriah for the past 16 years. He owned and operated Cobb’s Garage. He was a member of the NRA and Poplar Springs Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Freda Cobb; two brothers, Walter Cobb and Ray Cobb; one sister, Mary Lou Weaver and first wife, Jean Hayles Cobb.

Mr. Cobb is survived by his wife, Virginia Cobb of Uriah; two sons, Eddie (Tina) Upton of Frisco City, Ala. and Allen (Cindy) Cobb of Uriah; two daughters, Cindy (David) Morgan of Megargel and Tammy (Jeff) Brooks of Uriah; one brother, Clifford Cobb (Betty) Allen of Mobile, Ala.; three sisters, Jean Bodiford of Greenville, Ala., Ann Brown of Frisco City, Ala. and Sandra Bradley of Gulf Shores, Ala.; ten grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 30, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Matt Brown and Rev. Allen Cobb officiating. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery.

The family received friends Monday, July 30, 2018 from 9:30 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Justin Redditt, Cameron Cobb, Josh Morgan, Trey Brooks, Matt Patrick, Jeremy Flowers and Jarod Richerson.

Willie James Fantroy, Sr.

Mr. Willie James Fantroy, Sr., age 78, of Brewton, Ala., passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2018. He was born to Elizabeth Fantroy in Escambia County, Ala. He was educated in the Escambia County Alabama School System. He attended school Boykin High School. He worked as a farmer with William Cook and later was employed with T.R. Miller Lumber Mill. He enjoyed his spare time fishing.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Leola and his mother Elizabeth Fantroy.

Mr. Fantroy is survived by ten children, Mary (Curtis) Jones, Lillie Fantroy, Patricia (James) Dees, all of Brewton, Willie Fantroy Jr. of Texas, Robert Fantroy, Elizabeth Fantroy, both of Brewton, Jeremy Fantroy of Birmingham, Ala., Stephanie Pickens of Kentucky, Jackie Fantroy and Melissa Fantroy, both of Brewton; fourteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; three aunts, Ruby Fantroy, Laura Fantroy and Rosa Lee Johnson and a host of nieces, nephews, many cousins and friends.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Second Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, Brewton, with Rev. Matthew Coleman, Pastor and Minister Bruce Brown, Eulogist. Interment followed in Second Bethlehem Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Willie Fantroy, Jr., Robert Fantroy, Woodrow Jackson, Gregory Baker, Terry Nelson, and Robert Brazile.

Flower bearers were family and friends.

Ms. Willie Mae Welch passed away Sunday, July 22, 2018.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Gaines Chapel A.M.E. Church.

Ms. Andrea Northern, age 36, of Evergreen, Ala., passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at Evergreen Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 2 p.m. at the Community Center.

Ms. Linda Diane Jefferson, age 58, of Brewton, Ala., passed away Thursday, July 25, 2018 at Sacred Heart Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 2, 2018 at St. Peters Baptist Church, Pollard, Ala.

Obie Johnson

Mr. Obie Johnson, age 82, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Friday, July 27, 2018 at Atmore Nursing Care Center.
