Mollie Lue Huggins

Mrs. Mollie Lue Huggins, age 80, passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2018 in Atmore, Ala. She was a native of Perdido, Ala., former resident of Bay Minette, Ala. and has resided in Atmore, Ala., for the past 5 ½ years. She was of the Assembly of God Faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Huggins; son, Lance Arlen Huggins; parents, Ralph and Gertrude Johnson and son-in-law, Jerry Frank Alston.

Mrs. Huggins is survived by her daughter, Deborah H. Alston of Atmore; three brothers, Dale (Peggy) Johnson of Molino, Fla., Rev. Jerry Johnson of Huntsville, Ala. and Rev. Ken (Vickie) Johnson of Cantonment, Fla.; three sisters, Doris (W.C.) Barnhill of Molino, Lois Johnson of Spanish Fort, Ala. and Becky (Wayne) Melton of Loxley, Ala.; one granddaughter, Hayden (Joel) Minchew; two great-grandchildren, Graham Minchew and Maggie Minchew, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held Friday, July 13, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Johnson and Rev. Ken Johnson officiating. Burial followed at Oak Grove Assembly of God Cemetery.

The family received friends Friday, July 13, 2018 from 9 a.m. until service time at 10 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were David Johnson, Nathan Johnson, Wayne Melton, Adam Melton, Matthew Melton and Brandon Harigel.

Robert McCaskill

Mr. Robert McCaskill age 80. Of Brewton, Ala., passed away Friday July 6, 2018 at Select specialty Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Second St. Siloam Baptist Church.

Lindy B. Phillips  

Mr. Lindy B. Phillips, age 87, passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2018 in Atmore, Ala. He was a native and life-long resident of Walnut Hill, Fla. He retired from the Naval Air Station (Pensacola) as a Sheet Metal Instructor; he served in the U.S. Air Force and was retired from the Alabama National Guard with twenty-one years of service. He was a member of the Walnut Hill Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-five years, Marie Hubbird Phillips; parents, Dovie and Lillie Phillips; three sisters and three brothers.
Mr. Phillips is survived by his four sons, Mike (Cathy) Phillips of Atmore, Barry (Deborah) Phillips of Barrineau Park, Fla., Dale (Perla) Phillips and Tim (Anna) Phillips, all of Pensacola, Fla.; one sister, Ethel (Windell) Wilcox of Daphne, Ala.; seven grandchildren and eleven great- grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 15, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Ted Bridges and Rev. James Boyd officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Baptist Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday, July 15, 2018 from 1 p.m. until service time at 2 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Rebecca Ann Ray

Mrs. Rebecca Ann Ray, age 70, passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2018 in Pensacola, Fla. She was a native of Andalusia, Ala., former resident of Colquitt, Ga., and has resided in Atmore, Ala. for the past eight years. She was a member and treasurer of the Women Auxiliary VFW for eight years and DAV Bay Minette, Ala. She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Dorothy Henderson and sister, Lisa Coleman.
Mrs. Ray is survived by her husband, Danny Ray, of Atmore; two sons, Eddie (Charlotte) Graves of Florala, Ala. and Christopher (Alice) Ray of Atmore; one daughter, Melissa (Emory) Sapp of Colquitt; one brother, Gary Henderson of Tampa, Fla.; three sisters, Angie Sanchez of Kansas City, Kans., Julie Knurek of Tampa and Nena Henderson of Andalusia; thirteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Kathleen Chavers officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday, July 13, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Sherry Gibbs Morris

Ms. Sherry Gibbs Morris, age 79, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Thursday, July 12, 2018 in Atmore. She was born in Atmore to the late Buford A. and Evelyn Moring Gibbs. She was a graduate of Grady School of Nursing and Jefferson Davis Community College. She was a registered nurse for the Escambia County Alabama School System for many years; worked at Albert P. Brewer Center in Mobile, Ala. and was a home health hospice nurse. She later became the owner and florist of Sherry’s Elegant Flowers in Atmore and then retired.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Marcia Chambers and grandson, James Austin Baker.
Ms. Morris is survived by her daughters, Tonya Michelle (David) Garrett; Tina Renee (Kimble) Grafton, Tara Morris and special friend of the family, Dorothy Overstreet, all of Daphne, Ala.; brother, Johnny (Julia) Gibbs of Atmore; sisters, Girdielene (Shine) Snyder of Mexia, Ala. and Brenda (Robert) Wade of Atmore; grandchildren, Anna D’Olive-Charles, Ali Garrett, Meagan Baker and many special nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 16, 2018 at 11 a.m. from the First United Methodist Church of Atmore with Rev. Brennan Peacock, officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be David Garrett, Kimble Grafton, Steve Gibbs, Barry Wells, Ronnie Beasley and Donnie Beasley.
The family will receive friends Monday, July 16, 2018 from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. from the First United Methodist Church of Atmore.
Flowers will be accepted but donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.

Frankie Glenn “Bama” Rolin

Mr. Frankie Glenn “Bama” Rolin, age 55, of Baytown, Texas, passed away Thursday, July 12, 2018 in a Houston, Texas hospital. He was born, in Atmore, Ala. He was a member of the I.U.O.E. Local # 450 and was of the Baptist faith. He was proud of his Native American Indian heritage and was a member of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians. He loved being with his family and friends and hosting crawfish boils and loved to make people laugh. He was also an avid University of Alabama fan.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frankie Lee Rolin and mother, Willie Lois Rolin.

Mr. Rolin is survived by his wife, Teri Rolin of Baytown; children, Kaitlyn Rolin of Baytown, Ryan Jordan and fiancé, Christa Taylor and Sara Jordan and fiancé, Bryan Ralls, all of Highlands, Texas, Chris Rolin of Dickinson, Texas and Jessica Rolin of San Leon, Texas; brothers and sister-in-law, Jerry and Tammy Rolin and Tommy Rolin, all of Atmore; granddaughter, Brinley Ralls and numerous other family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will follow at New Home Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday, July 19, 2018 from 12:30 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Barrett

Logan Heath Barrett

Mr. Logan Heath Barrett, age 23, passed Sunday, July 15, 2018. He was born in Henderson Texas and resided in Atmore, Ala. He was a 2013 graduate of Henderson High School and was a Millwright for Swift Lumber Company in Atmore. Logan was a gentle giant. He was the light in the room. He cared deeply about his family and friends and never met a stranger. Logan lived life to the fullest. He worked hard and played harder. His passions included welding, racing, riding Harleys with his buddies, being with his friends, and spinning pretty ladies around a dance floor. He was the best at everything he did and was very loved by all who knew him.

Mr. Barrett is survived by his father and mother, Larry Wayne and Paulette Barrett of Atmore; his brothers, Daniel and Carson Barrett of Atmore; grandparents, Lorita Ball of Atmore; Noah Paul and Gay Martin of Dekalb, Texas; Robert and Lucille Teel of Atmore; aunt, Jeanna Martin Smith of Omaha Texas; niece, Jade Barrett; nephew, Brantley Barrett of Atmore; several cousins and an amazing group of very close personal friends.

The family will receive friends Thursday, July 19, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. at Crawford A Crim Funeral Home in Henderson, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 20, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Bar None Cowboy Church in Tatum, Texas. Interment will follow at Ward’s Creek Cemetery in Simms, Texas at 2 p.m.

Pallbearers will be his closest family and Friends.

 

Dan York

Mr. Dan York, age 74, of Mobile, Ala. and native of Atmore, Ala., passed away Sunday, July 15, 2018 at Covenant Hospice of Mobile Providence Hospital.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time but will be announced later by Christian Memorial Funeral Home.

 

Eddie Charles Williams

Mr. Eddie Charles Williams, age 72, of Brewton, Ala., passed away Monday, July 9, 2018 at his home.

Memorial Services will be held at a later date.

Clifford West

Mr. Walter Clifford West, age 66, Floral City, Fla., passed away Sunday, July 15, 2018 under the loving care of his wife and Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast. He was born in Lancaster, Pa. to Wilford and Rubie Smith West and moved to Citrus County from Wawbeek, Ala. and Bratt, Fla. He retired from the Ridgway Roof Truss Company in Gainesville, Fla. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Inverness where he served as a Sunday school teacher and on the Board of Deacons.

Mr. West is survived by his his wife of thirty-eight years, Jean Skelton West; two children, Jeremy West and his wife Marnie of Rockford, Ill., Juanita Sanders, Inverness, Fla.; two brothers, Jeffrey West and his wife, Dee of Brooksville, Fla. and Jay West and his wife, Cindy, Fairbanks, AK; one sister, Jeanie Love and her husband, David of Concord, N.C.; his parents, Wilford and Rubie West, both of Brooksville, Fla.; six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela Vosburgh.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at noon from First Assembly of God Church of Inverness with Rev. Dairold Rushing officiating.

Additional services will be conducted from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home, Atmore, Ala. Saturday, July 21, 2018 at noon. Burial will follow in Bratt- Godwin Cemetery in Bratt.

The family will receive friends at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home from 11a.m. until the hour of service. Friends may call at First Assembly of God Church from 11 a.m. until the hour of service

In lieu of flowers, memorials are being accepted by the family for final expenses.

Robert McCaskill   

Mr. Robert McCaskill, age 80, of Brewton, Ala., passed away Friday, July 6, 2018. He was born to the late Jewel McCaskill Payne and Claude Payne. He was a graduate of Southern Normal School. He served in the United States Army and relocated to Philadelphia, Penn. living there for twenty years. Upon returning to Brewton he later became a member of Second St. Siloam Baptist Church serving as deacon.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Jean Payne, Agnes Floyd, John R. Payne and Charles Payne.

Mr. McCaskill is survived by his wife, Celestine McCaskill; mother-in-law, Ella Edwards; two children, Terri Neely of Philadelphia and Robert “Bobby” McCaskill, Jr.; sister, Jeanetta Armstead of Monticello, N.Y.; brothers, James Payne “Jimmy” (Dorothy) Payne of Brewton, Ala. and Marcellus Autry of Norfolk, Va.; four sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; two grandsons; Deacon Salathiel Neely, II and Deacon Jeremiah Neely; granddaughter, Joeseni Deloris McCaskill; close friend, Billy Barksdale and a host of nieces nephews cousins and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Second St. Siloam Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Willie Blue, Pastor officiating. Interment followed in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers were his nephews and friends.

Flower bearers were family and friends.

David Dewayne Barnett

Mr. David Dewayne Barnett, age 58, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Sunday July 15,
2018 in Atmore. He was born in Atmore to the Kenneth and Nancy
Jones Barnett. He was a pharmacist with Walmart. He was a graduate of Auburn
University. He attended Grace Fellowship.
He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Barnett.
Mr. Barnett is survived by his wife, Denean Everette Barnett; his mother, Nancy Barnett;
a daughter, Carson Barnett; a brother, Mike Barnett; a sister, Kim (Ron)
Tatum, all of Atmore.
Graveside services will be held Friday, July 20, 2018 at 10 a.m. from Oak Hill Cemetery
Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
