Joseph “Joe” Leon Smith
Mr. Joseph “Joe” Leon Smith, age 51, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2018 in Pensacola, Fla. He was a native and life-long resident of Flomaton, Ala. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a past employee of Service Welding, Charco and H&H.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Hosie and Willie Vaughan Smith and Lou and Bertha Bondurant.
Mr. Smith is survived by his father, Leon and Kim Smith of Flomaton; mother, Carole and Don Hamilton of Atmore, Ala.; fiancé, Cindy Gradeless of Flomaton; two sons, Justin (Tarissa) Smith and Jake (Haley) Smith, both of Brewton, Ala.; two brothers, Jeff (Laura) Taylor and Mike (Serese) Taylor, all of Flomaton; two sisters, Kay (Reo) Pugh of Flomaton and Angie Taylor of Century, Fla. and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, April 15, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Pat Carden officiating. Burial followed at Green Acres Cemetery.
The family received friends Saturday, April 14, 2018 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Brian Peebles, Daniel McBride, Brady Lambeth, Tuffy Boutwell, Jason Beasley and Anthony Boutwell.

Sharon “Sherry” Odom
Mrs. Sharon “Sherry” Odom, age 60, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at her home in Century, Fla. She was a native of Atmore, Ala. and resided in Century for most of her life. She loved family times with her grandchildren, swimming at the creek and was an avid fisherman. She retired from Century Correctional Center and was a member of the Byrneville Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Devon Odom; two sisters, Kathy Black and Teresa Jordan and a brother, James Michael Wilson.
Mrs. Odom is survived by her parents, Jimmy and Barbara Wilson of Byrneville, Fla.; husband of forty-two years, Ricky Odom of Century; one son, Jesse James (Morgan) Odom of Brewton, Ala.; one sister, Beth (Kevin) Beck of Orlando, Fla. and three grandchildren, Michael Andrew Odom, Allie Alysse Odom and Anna Bell Alexis Odom.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 13, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Byrneville Methodist Church with Rev. Chris Hawkins officiating. Burial followed at Byrneville Cemetery.
The family received friends Thursday, April 12, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Leslie Paul Blackburn
Mr. Leslie Paul Blackburn, age 86, of Brewton, Ala., passed away Thursday, April 12, 2018 in Frisco City, Ala. He was a native and long-time resident of Brewton. He was a member of the Pilgrim Chapel Holiness Church, He served in the National Guard, Air Force, Army, and Naval Air.
He retired from Container Corporation with thirty-three years of service. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and playing the harmonica, fiddle, and guitar.
Mr. Blackburn is survived by one son, Michael (Kathy) Blackburn of Atmore; three daughters,
Paula Faye Hall, Linda Ann (Tommy) McCall, both of Atmore and Patricia Jo (Allen) Burr of Frisco City, Ala.; step-son, Joe Edwards of Brewton; two step-daughters, Gertrude Wesson of Wetumpka, Ala., Leola Tew of Notasulga, Ala.; one brother, Delmas Blackburn of Brewton; fourteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 13, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Fred White and Rev. Earl Harrison officiating.
Interment with military honors followed in Weaver Cemetery, Brewton, Ala.

Debra Sue Joiner
Mrs. Debra Sue Joiner, age 64, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2018 in Mobile, Ala. She was a native of Bay Minette, Ala. and has resided in Stockton, Ala. for the past twenty-four years. She was of the holiness faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Rufus Joiner; son, Claude Bennett Odom and brother, Billy Hall.
Mrs. Joiner is survived by one son, Elzie Joiner of Stockton; two daughters, Debra Michelle (Joseph) Odom of Flomaton, Ala. and Debbie Juanita (Michael) White of Bay Minette; two brothers, Bubba Hall of Rabun, Ala. and Willie James Hall of Atmore, Ala.; seven sisters, Sherry Bryars of Rabun, Ala., Wanda Hall of Bay Minette, AL, Mary Ann Waters of Stockton, AL, Tammy Jean Blount of Dothan, AL, Brenda Stewart of Semmes, AL, Linda Jay and Mitilda Donald, both of Whitehouse Fork, Ala.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 16, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Dean Holiness Church with Sis. Helen Stewart officiating. Burial followed at Dean Cemetery.

Keith Finley Hendrix
Mr. Keith Finley Hendrix, age 73 of Goodway, Ala., passed away Thursday, April 12, 2018 at his home. Mr. Hendrix, a lifelong resident of Monroe County, was a member of Gravel Hill Primitive Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the Army National Guard where he proudly served for six years.
He worked with Vanity Fair for many years as a receiving supervisor. He loved gardening, woodworking, and beekeeping.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Elmore Hendrix and Nellie Ree Johnson Hendrix; his brothers, Cecil Edward Hendrix and Gerald Wayne Hendrix; and his sisters, Pauline Hendrix Josey, Clarice Hendrix Evans and Mary Louise Hendrix.
Mr. Hendrix is survived by his wife, Judy Johnson Hendrix of Goodway; two daughters, Cynthia Melin (Jim) Mills of Excel, Ala. and Kristal Lynn (Jason) Holmes of Auburn, Ala.; two step- daughters, Heather Metts (Mike) Stone of Brewton, Ala. and Leslie Metts (Chip) Pullen and of Coosada, Ala.; two brothers, Billy Ray (Yvonne) Hendrix of Cantonment, Fla. and Arnold Preston Hendrix of Goodway; two sisters, Verla Ree (Wendell) Middleton of Goodway and Patricia Thornton of Tibbie, Ala.; three grandchildren, Hattie Holmes, Trip Mill and Hannah Grace Mills; two step-grandchildren, Bailey Stone (Reid) Johnson and Laiken Stone; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 16, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Monroe Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Tolbert and Rev. Arnold Hendrix officiating. Burial followed in Sowell Old Field Cemetery.

Sherry Kay Kyles
Ms. Sherry Kay Kyles, age 57, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Thursday, April 12, 2018 at her residence. She was a native of Atmore, and a 1979 graduate of Escambia County High School. She graduated from Reid State Technical College in Child Care Development. She was employed at Loxley Work Release and also was an inspector with Spectrum Results. She was a member of Jones Street Holiness Church serving as head of the Nurse’s Guild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Daisy Craft McKenzie and Richard McKenzie, as well as several aunts, uncles and other family members.
Ms. Kyles is survived by her only child, Eddie (Katrina Willis) Kyles, Jr. of Atmore; two adopted sons, Prophet Shawn (Fekeisha) Williams of Mobile, Ala. and Earl Dailey of Atmore; six sisters, Sharon Diane McKenzie, Betty McKenzie, and Anne Lyons all of Atmore, Joyce Abner of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., Sharon Dale of Detroit, Mich. and Risa Brooks of Montgomery, Ala.; one brother, Gordon McKenzie of Atmore; one grandson, LeBron Willis of Atmore; two step-grandchildren, LaDarien Willis of Normal, Ala. and LaDasia Willis of Atmore; host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and other family.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 20, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Empowerment Tabernacle Christian Center with Prophet Shawn Williams, Pastor of Jones Street True Pentecostal Holiness Church, officiating and Bishop Darryl North, Host Pastor. Interment followed in Fairview Cemetery.
Public viewing was held Thursday, April 19, 2018 from 2 – 5 p.m. at the funeral home and Family Hour from 6 – 8 p.m. at Jones Street Holiness Church, 90 Jones Street – Atmore. Her body did lie in-state at Empowerment Tabernacle Christian Center one hour prior to the funeral service.

Mr. Danny Bradley, age 52, of Brewton, Ala., passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2018. He was born to the late Hermon Levon Bradley Sr. and the late Margaret Brown. He was educated in the Escambia County School System, graduating from Southern Normal High School in 1984. He continued his education at Reid State Technical College and was employed by Grede.
He was preceded in death by his father, Hermon Levon Bradley, Sr. and his mother, Margaret Brown; siblings, Vera Mae Bradley, Herman Levon Bradley, Jr. and Jacqueline Michelle Bradley.
Mr. Bradley is survived by his wife, Julia Bradley; son, Danerius; daughter, Asiana ; sister, Barbara (Anthony) Green; brother, Scotty Bradley; aunts, Novella Richards and Minnie Prime; uncles, Willie Anderson and Eugene Anderson; mother-in-law, Pastor Betty Woods, sisters-in-law, Minister Ramona (Carthell) Forney, Regina (Jessie) Smith; one brother-in-law, T.S. (Janet) Ingraham along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mr. Antonio Richardson, resident of Atmore, Ala., passed away Monday, April 16, 2018 at U.S.A. Medical Center due to injuries from an automobile accident.

Annie Mae Stallworth (Spears)
Mrs. Annie Mae Stallworth (Spears), age 84, of Brewton, Ala., passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2018. She was born to the late Alec and Roxie Mason in Bay Minette, Ala. She was educated in the Baldwin County School System. She was a faithful and devoted member of True Word Revival Center, Brewton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her companion of thirty-seven years, Levaugh Spears; three brothers and one sister.
Mrs. Spears is survived by five sons, David Stallworth, James Stallworth, both of Pensacola, Fla, John W. Stallworth of Junction City, Ks., Elbert Spears of Ala. and Timothy (Renee) Stallworth, of Gulfport, Ms; six daughters, Annie (Michael) of Castleberry, Ala., Eula (John) Woods, Marilyn Spears and Pamela (Tony) Cobb, all of Evergreen, Ala, Elmita Peterson of Moultrie, Ga. and Barbara Grooms of Lutz, Fla.; forty-seven grandchildren; forty-five great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Lee Spears of Brewton and Rosie Lee Sankey of Montgomery, Ala; three special friends, Betty Jones, Velma Roach and Edna Jones, all of Brewton; host on nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 16, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Second St. Siloam Baptist Church, Brewton, with Rev. Willie Blue, Pastor and Apostle Maverick Singleton, eulogist. Interment followed in Piney Grove Cemetery.

Donald Ray Harrison
Mr. Donald Ray Harrison, age 65, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Saturday, April 14, 2018 at his home. He was a native and life-long resident of Atmore. He was a member of the Church of Living God.
He was preceded in death by his wife of forty-six years, Barbara E. Harrison; parents, Elzie and Luverne Harrison; grandmother, Ida Rutherford; brother, Harold Harrison and four sisters, Alice Ruth Harrison, Verna Mae Harris, Dorothy Milstead and Sarah O’Leary.
He is survived by his three brothers, Earl Harrison, Robert Wayne Harrison, both of Atmore and David Michael Harrison of Brewton, Ala.; three sisters, Helen Jones of McCullough, Ala., Kaye Robinson of Atmore and Faye Odom of Perdido, Ala.; sister-in-law and caregiver, Joyce Evans of Atmore; special great niece, Riana Evans and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Moyeville Cemetery with Rev. Mike Hutto officiating.
