Rosie Abramovich Stewart
Mrs. Rosie Abramovich Stewart, age 101, of Perdido, Ala., passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2018 in Perdido.

She was born in Des Moines, Iowa to the late Anton and Mary Gurgurich Abramovich. She attended Splinter Hill Pentecostal Holiness Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of seventy-three years, Otis M. Stewart; four sisters and one brother.

Mrs. Stewart is survived by her daughter, Evelyn (Franklin) King of Perdido and son, Glenn (Marianne) Stewart of Fairhope, Ala.; nine grandchildren; numerous great and great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Funeral services were held Friday, March 9, 2018 at 10 a.m. from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Michael Hadley and Sis. Thursia Long officiating. Burial followed in Bryars-McGill Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Garrick Wilder, J.C. Clay, Tony Summersell, Roger King, Korey Biggs and Doyle Elwell.

Honorary pallbearers were Frank Klasnich, Jr. and Roy Etheridge.

The family received friends Thursday, March 8, 2018 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Joe Evans O’Barr, Jr.
Mr. Joe Evans O’Barr, Jr., age 64, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at his home in Poarch, Ala. He was a native of Little Rock, Ark., former resident of Mobile, Ala. and has resided in Poarch for the past 29 years. He was a member of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians; past Vestry Member of St. Anna’s; was on the PCI Gaming Board and was a member of the St Anna’s Episcopal Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe, Sr. and Bessie O’Barr; one brother, Michael Anthony O’Barr and one sister, Beverly O’Barr.

Mr. O’Barr is survived by his wife of forty-one years, Ellen O’Barr of Poarch; three sons, Charles Anthony (Sylina) O’Barr of Perdido, Ala., Jonathan Evans (Stacie) O’Barr of Poarch and Andrew (Elizabeth) Daughtry of Atmore, Ala.; three daughters, Christy O’Barr (Ronnie) Huskey of Atmore, Shannon (Jason) Griffey and Kimberly O’Barr (Nick) Hill, all of Poarch; two sisters, Brenda (Ricky) Faircloth and Teresa “Shada” (Jamie) Thomas, all of Poarch; nineteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Father Michael Hill officiating. Burial followed at Judson Creek Indian Cemetery.

The family received friends Friday, March 9, 2018 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearer were Larry Faircloth, Jerry Faircloth, Scott Griffey, Mikey Griffey, Jake Thomas, Kendall Reed, Chris Lee and Chad Parker.

Honorary pallbearers were A.D. Owens, Bobby McGhee, Mike Parker, Joe Lowe, David Morris, Aubrey Smith and David Kirby.

Thomas Earl Moore
Mr. Thomas Earl Moore, age 41, of Mobile, Ala., formerly of Atmore, Ala., passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018 as a result of a car accident in Mobile.

Mrs. Ethel Lucas, age 98, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Atmore Community Hospital.

Emuel Gerald Morgan
Mr. Emuel Gerald Morgan, age 71, passed away Friday, March 9, 2018 in Mobile, Ala. He was a native of Walnut Hill, Fla. and has resided in Perdido, Ala. for the past fourteen years. He was a member of the VFW and employed with Dowdle Gas Company.

Mr. Morgan is survived by his wife, Patricia Diane Morgan of Perdido; two sons, Daniel Ray (Kim) Morgan of Bay Minette, Ala. and Kristofor (Leslie Jarman) Laird of Atmore, Ala.; two daughters, Tonya Lynn Morgan of Sacramento, Calif. and Melisa (J.R.) Godwin of Atmore; two brothers, Billy (Elaine) Morgan of Robinsonville, Ala. and Ronnie Reggie (Linda Gail) Morgan of McDavid, Fla,; fifteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

The family received friends Monday, March 12, 2018 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Emersyn Kate Rolin
Infant Emersyn Kate Rolin, born Tuesday, October 24, 2017, passed away Thursday, March 8, 2018 in Atmore, Ala. She was a member of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians and attended the Friendly Holiness Church.

She was preceded in death by her paternal great-grandparents, Ray and Bobbie Pearson and Jack and Eunice Rolin; maternal great-grandparents, Howard and Hattie Mae McGhee; aunt, Becky Norman and special cousin, Ashkia Williams.

Emersyn Kate Rolin is survived by her parents, Ronald and Heather Rolin of Atmore ; one sister, Harper Leigh Rolin of Atmore; maternal grandparents, Joe and Lena White of Atmore; paternal grandparents, Ronnie and Margie Rolin of Atmore; maternal great-grandparents, Butch and Joann White of Tallahassee, Fla.; aunts, Shelly and Romie Chavira and Heather Rolin, all of Atmore; uncles, Dempsey and Haley Rolin and James and Hannah White, all of Atmore; five first cousins, Aron Chavira, Kenslee Chavira, Crimson Chavira, Braxton Harrison and Bryleigh Rolin; numerous great aunts, uncles other relatives and many friends; caregivers, Sherry Lambert and Alysha Cunningham.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Ray Ward and Bro. Joe White officiating. Burial will follow at the Judson Creek Indian Cemetery.

The family received friends Tuesday, March 13, 2018 from 6 until 8 a.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Friendly Holiness Church.

Pallbearers were Melton Weaver, Kenny Williams, Timothy Slate, Nathan Dortch, Don Wayne Rolin and Jeremy Odom.

Honorary pallbearers were Wade White, Thomas Banda, Collin Richards, D.J. Etheridge, Tony Wright and Melvin Middleton.

Edlyn Gail Webster
Mrs. Edlyn Gail Webster, age 75, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2018 in Pensacola, Fla. She was a native of Rushville, Ind., former resident of New Castle, Ind. and Pensacola, Fla. for twenty-five years and has resided in Atmore, Ala. for the past seventeen years. She was a member of OES of New Castle, did volunteer work for various organization and was of the Episcopal faith. She was a graduate from Walter P. Chrysler High School in New Castle and attended the Ball State Teacher’s College in Muncie, Ind. and Patricia Stevens Finishing School in Indianapolis, Ind.

She was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-eight years, Bob Webster; parents, Robert and Dorothy O’Neal and one brother, David O’Neal.

Mrs. Webster is survived by one son, Jeffrey Webster of Port Charlotte, Fla.; one daughter, Susan (Clay) Helton of Robinsonville, Ala.; five grandchildren; one aunt, Joyce Hahn of New Castle, Ind.; one niece, Colleen Hahn of Indianapolis, Ind.; two brothers-in-law, David (Bev) Webster and Phillip (Tammy) Webster, both of New Castle and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside services were held Thursday, March 15, 2018 at 10 a.m. at the Barrancas National Cemetery with Rev. Josh Long officiating.

The family received friends Wednesday, March 14, 2018 from 6 to 7 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Bobbie Roche, of Castleberry, Ala., passed away Monday, March 12, 2018 at Evergreen Medical Center.

Cora Matthews
Cora Matthews, age 72, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Saturday, March 10, 2018. She was born in Wilcox County to the late Willie and Georgia Mae Matthews. She attended Escambia County Training School. She was employed with Atmore Community Hospital forty-two years. She was a long time and faithful member of Power Pentecostal Holiness Church and later joined Empowerment Tabernacle Christ Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Leola Matthews Brazzell; brother, Robert Matthews and nephew, Sonny Matthews.

Ms. Matthews is survived by two sons, Gary (Brittannia) Matthews of Anniston, Ala. and Anthony (AJ) Matthews, Jr.; one great-granddaughter, Kinleigh Latrice Matthews; sisters, Charlotte Matthews and Karen Matthews Orange, both of Atmore, Mary (Marcel) Robertson of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; brothers, Clarence (Lucille) Matthews of Atmore and Cary Matthews of Brewton, Ala.; one uncle, Daniel (Janice) Dortch of Mobile, Ala.; very devoted daughter-in-law, Torisha Matthews of Atmore; special friends, Annie Bowens, Bessie Mae Johnson and Beatrice Johnson along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Empowerment Christian Center with Bishop Overseer Darryl North, officiating. Burial followrf in Stallworth Cemetery

Ethel D. Lucas
Ms. Ethel D. Lucas, age 98, of Atmore, Ala., and a retired school teacher in Escambia County, passed away Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Atmore Community Hospital. She was a native of Camden, Ala., She lived in Atmore most of her life. She’s a graduate of Escambia County Training School and received her Bachelor and Master’s Degrees from Alabama A&M University (College). She taught school at Swift, Nokomis, Pleasant Hill, Canoe schools. She was a member of Greater

Mt. Triumph Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher and member of the Senior Choir and Missionary Society. She enjoyed fishing and traveling.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Robert McGriff and William Lucas; her parents, Albert and Savannah Jones; two sisters, Lily M. Packer and Corine Hines and one brother, Willie Cleveland Jones.

Ms. Lucas is survived by one son, Leo (Catherine) Lucas of Dayton, Ohio; seventeen grandchildren; thirty-eight great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was held Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Greater Mt. Triumph Baptist Church with Rev. Willie Hawthorne, pastor, officiating. Her body did lie in-state at the church one hour prior to funeral service. Retirement of her remains was in Stallworth Cemetery.

Public viewing was Friday, March 16, 2018 from 2 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Arrie Lee “Buddy” Riley
Mr. Arrie Lee “Buddy” Riley, age 69, of Dayton, Ohio, formerly of Atmore, Ala., passed away Friday, March 2, 2018 at Hospice of Dayton. He was a native of Atmore and attended Escambia County Training School. He had lived in Dayton for many years. He was a brick layer.

Mr. Riley is survived by two daughters, Naja Lynn Davis and Tennilla Yeldell, both of Dayton; three sons, Arrie Yeldell, Preston Yeldell, Arrie Brannigan, all of Dayton; four sisters, Gereana Stargell and Betty Grimes, both of Dayton, Liza Wilson and Pearlie Hall, both of Atmore; three grandchildren, Ervin Lee Riley of Dayton, Terry Riley and Ray Charles Riley, both of Atmore; sixteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Robinsonville with Rev. Monroe Tucker, Jr. Pastor, officiating.

Interment followed in Fairview Cemetery. His body did lie in-state at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Public viewing was held Friday, March 16, 2018 from 2 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Marvin Larry Free
Mr. Marvin Larry Free, age 64, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2018 in Mobile, Ala. He was a native of Greenville, Ala. and has resided in Davisville, Fla. since 1958. He was the service manager at Hendrix Tractor Company and was a member of the Pinebarren Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Will and Eunice Free and wife, Opal Free.

Mr. Free is survived by his two sons, Gregory Marvin (Aubrey) Free of Buna, Texas and Larry Wayne Free of Bratt, Fla.; two sisters, Glenda M. Nall of Monroeville, Ala. and Carolyn E. Allen of Mobile, Ala.; three grandchildren, Leah Nicole Free, Christopher Lee Free and Ryan Adam Free and one great-grandchild, Grace Lynn Free.

Graveside services were held Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at 4 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Ronald Dove and Bro. Ronald Hall officiating.

The family received friends Wednesday, March 14, 2018 from 2 until 3:45 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Jeffrey Nall, Ronnie Dove, Cody Nall, Jed House, Bobby Nall and Jim Allen.
