Nathaniel “John” Rothchild
Mr. Nathaniel “John” Rothschild, age 85, of Atmore, Ala., (McCullough Community) passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at his residence. He was a native of Monroe County. He lived his early life in Coy, Ala.
He was retired from Scott Paper Company (now Kimberly Clark) and he was a Mason. He was a member and Deacon at the Mt. Gillead Baptist Church, Freemanville Community.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Emma Rothschild; his parents, Peter and Emma Rothschild and other family members.
Mr. Rothschild is survived by his wife, Bertha Rothschild of McCullough; daughter, Juanita Austin of McCullough; three sisters, Irene Sunday of Birmingham, Ala., Channie Rothschild of Canton, Ohio and Olivia Hill of New York, N.Y.; two brothers, Thomas Rothschild of Coy and Peter Rothschild of Selma. Ala.; two grandchildren, Synethia Austin and Shaughnessy both of McCullough; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral service were held Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. at Mt. Gillead Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Jones – Eulogist. Interment followed in Pierce – Rabb Cemetery. Public viewing will be held Friday, February 9, 2018 from 2 – 7 p.m. with Masonic Rites being held at 4:30 p.m. at the funeral home. His body did lie instate at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.

Wilbert G. Walker
Mr. Wilbert G. Walker, age 82, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Atmore Nursing Care Center. A native of Mobile, Ala., he lived in Atmore most of his life.
He was a 1955 graduate of Escambia County Training School and a veteran of the United States Army. He was a retired SGT from the Army National Guard with over twenty-five years of service.
He was employed by A.C. Moore Elementary School, Coca Cola Bottling Company, Samco Products, and Winn Dixie.
He was preceded in death by his biological parents, Oliver and Wilma Walker and the parents who reared him, Will and Mamie Moore and other family members.
Mr. Walker is survived by his devoted wife of fifty years, Mary Frances Walker of Atmore; four sons, Orlando Walker of Silver Springs, Md., Lafeyette (Jocelyn) Walker of Baton Rouge, La., Ret. U.S. Army SGTFC Dempsey (Cametrice) Walker of Pooler, Ga. and Ret. U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Nicholas (Starr) Walker of Fountain, Colo.; one daughter, Melissa (Brian) Harrison of Springdale, Md.; one sister, Geraldine McCloud of Mobile; fourteen grandchildren, one devoted granddaughter, Laneka Tolbert of Atmore; eight great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Gaines Chapel AME Church with Rev. Amos Smith – Pastor and Rev. Joseph Williams – Eulogist. Interment followed with full Military Honors in Stallworth Cemetery.

Bobby Mathis
Mr. Bobby Mathis, age 61, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2018 in Pensacola, Fla. He was a native and life-long resident of Century, Fla. He was an avid fisherman and past Little League Coach. He was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Annie Mathis and a son, Nicholas Andrew Mathis.
Mr. Mathis is survived by one son, Dennis Mathis of Century; one daughter, Annie Mae Mathis of Century; two brothers, Jimmy (Phyllis) Mathis of Century and Tommy Lee (Sandra) Mathis of Clermont, Fla.; three grandchildren, Trevor Mathis, Destiny Mathis and Blake Mathis and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were held Friday, February 2, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Glenn Johnson and Rev. Steve Crawley officiating. Burial followed at the Flomaton Cemetery.
The family received friends Thursday, February 1, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Rico Padilla, B.J. Johnson, Zac Sims, Aubrey Goodman, Ronnie Ardis, Jeffrey Hightower, Rannon Pace and Little Stevie Pace.

Charles “Chuck” Nathaniel Carden
Mr. Charles “Chuck” Nathaniel Carden, age 78, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2018 in Texas.
He was born in Pollard, Ala., was a former resident of Flomaton and has resided in Atmore, Ala. for the past fourteen years. He was an avid golfer and Alabama. He was a member of the Carden Singers and Friendship Freewill Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Nic and Katie Carden; one sister, Liz Burnham; one brother, Doug Carden and grandson, Ryder.
Mr. Carden is survived by his wife, Maggie Carden of Atmore; one son, Danny Carden of Michigan; one step-son, Michael (Shirley) Boatwright of Atmore; two daughters, Donna Best and Katie Carden, both of Pensacola, Fla.; one step-daughter, Rebecca (Billy) Odom of Gun Barrel, Texas; seven grandchildren; two step-grandsons; one step-granddaughter; four great- grandchildren and two great-step-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Rusty Burnham officiating. Burial followed at Pollard Cemetery.
The family received friends Friday, February 2, 2018 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Therese Keller Roberts
Miss Therese Keller Roberts, age 97, a lifelong resident of Miflin, Ala., passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2018. She taught in the public school system and was a principal in Baldwin County for forty-four years.
She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, U.D.C. and D. A. R. She was a lifelong member of Swift Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Byard and Anna Roberts; nephew; Robert A. Gordon, Jr.; brothers; (Infant) Byard Wilmer Roberts, George Gavin (Cotton) Roberts, and a sister; Miriam Cornelia Gordon
Miss Roberts is survived by her nephew, William B. “Bubba” (Susanna) Gordon, Sr. of Pensacola, Fla.; two nieces; Meg (Bob) Jones of Atmore, Ala. and Anna (Kaki) Russell of St. Petersburg, Fla.; great nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Swift Presbyterian Church, Foley, Ala.
The family received friends Saturday, February 3, 2018 one hour prior to funeral service time.

Margie Brown
Mrs. Margie Brown, age 70, passed away Saturday, February 3, 2018 in Pensacola, Fla. She was a native and life-long resident of Byrneville, Fla. She was an avid fisherman, gardener and collected glass whatnots.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Brown; parents, Elbert and Esther Boutwell and numerous siblings.
Mrs. Brown is survived by her one son, Cory (Betty) Brown of Pensacola; three daughters, Sherry (Gregory) Chavers of Crestview, Fla., Sabrina (Ronald) Fischer of Century, Fla. and Deborah Elliott of Pensacola; one brother, Alton Boutwell of Jay, Fla.; one sister, Claudeen (Bud) Kimmons of Castleberry, Ala.; ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Monday, February 5, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Beulah Chapel Cemetery with Rev. Donnie Kimmons officiating.

Charles Ruben Davis
Mr. Charles Ruben Davis, age 80, passed away Sunday, February 4, 2018 in Atmore, Ala. He was a native and life-long resident of Davisville, Fla. He was a member of the Carney Lodge #549, American Legion Post #90 (Atmore, Ala.) and the First Baptist Church of Canoe.
He was preceded in death by his four brothers, Hilton Davis, Sonney Davis, Clarence Davis and James Davis and one sister, Martha Alene Singleton.
Mr. Davis is survived by his wife of thirty-four years, Willodeane Davis of Atmore; three sons, Donald David Clemmons of Atmore, Jack E. (Sandy) Clemmons of Walnut Hill, Fla. and Charles Rodney (Lisa) Davis of Cantonment, Fla.; three daughters, Jackie Killam of Tensaw, Ala., Pam (Peter) Christensen and Kimberly Lynn Dasalva, all of Pensacola, Fla.; one sister, Dorothy Moore of Atmore; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Waylon Stuckey officiating. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Baby Kairo is survived by his mother, Mary Elaine Hixon of Century, Fla.; twin sisters, Nobi L. Hixon and Norela A. Hixon of Century; his grandparents, Darrell (Nympha) Hixon of Navarre, Fla. and Belen Hixon of San Diego, Calif. and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
