A Mobile County man lost his life Wednesday, January 31, when the vehicle he was driving left a roadway just outside Atmore and hit a culvert.
Alabama State Troopers reported that the fatal, single-vehicle mishap occurred around noon on North 18th Avenue, just east of Atmore.
Troopers reported that Rudolph Reginald Nettles, 62, of Semmes was travelling south in a 1955 Chevrolet when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle left the roadway and struck the culvert.
Nettles was not using a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. Medics pronounced him dead at the scene.
Troopers continued this week their investigation of the crash, and no further details were available.
