ECMS Red Ribbon banner winner
Each class at Escambia County Middle School created a banner to hang outside their classroom for Red Ribbon Week. The theme of the banner was centered around “Drug and Alcohol Free.” Banners were judged and the winning class will receive an ice cream treat during recess. The winning class was Mrs. Wasdin’s fifth-grade homeroom shown at left.
Math … for parents
Math can be tough – and new math models can be even more confusing for adults helping their students with homework. To assist parents and guardians, the administration and staff at Escambia County Middle School held Math Night Monday, November 13. Parents, grandparents and guardians were invited to attend sessions acquainting them with the Eureka Math curriculum. They were given resources including a number of websites and tutorials.
CACC welding program wins sculpture contest
Three students from the welding program on the Atmore Campus of Coastal Alabama Community College won first place in a sculpture contest at the Central Gulf Industrial Alliance (CGIA) General Membership Meeting and 10th Anniversary Celebration held on November 1. The students involved in building the sculptured sea turtle were Lee Boggs, Travious English, and Michael Smith. Live Nativity planned
The Eighth Annual Live Nativity will be presented Friday and Saturday, December 8 and 9, 6 p.m. – 8 p.m., 200 School Street, Frisco City. A hayride will leave from the Frisco City Fire Department, 29 Snider Avenue.
