A new program was recently implemented at Huxford Elementary School. Meet the first group of Huxford Ambassadors. Giving back
Velma Jackson-Wilkins, Escambia County High School Class of 1972, stopped by the school Tuesday, January 3, to drop off a gift. She donated $500 toward the choir’s trip to Carnegie Hall in New York in April. Jackson-Wilkins resides in Manhattan and hopes to take the group to dinner while they’re in the Big Apple. Teens hurt in wreck
Three teenage women, including an Atmore resident, were taken by ambulance to area hospitals after a two-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon (Dec. 5) at the junction of Carver Avenue and Pouncey Road.
