United Bank President and CEO Robert R. Jones, III has announced Justin Jennings has joined United Bank as Executive Vice President, Chief Retail Banking Officer. In his role, Jennings will lead the retail, consumer lending, and financial services teams in the bank’s market areas while directing the bank’s retail strategies to support sales and business development.
“The depth of his experience in retail banking, management and information technology will add significant strength to the Bank’s executive management team.” Jones said. “Justin brings a unique perspective to retail banking merging technology with the customer experience. As our chief retail banking officer, Justin’s leadership and expertise with the customer experience will drive us to higher levels.”
Jennings joins United Bank following 16 years in banking, 11 of which were spent in a community bank environment, his most recent role being Chief Banking and Information Officer. His prior experience includes branch management, lending, and community development in addition to retail and information technology. A native of Semmes, Alabama, Jennings is a graduate of Auburn University where he received a B.S.B.A. in Finance. He is also a graduate of the Alabama Banking School and the American Bankers Association Commercial Lending School.
Currently, Jennings serves on the board of directors for the Fairhope Educational Enrichment Foundation (FEEF) whose main charter is promote and enrich educational opportunities for Fairhope public schools and is an Officer of the Mobile Bay Kayak Fishing Association where he is an advocate for conservation and waterway access.
Additionally, he volunteers with Heroes on the Water (HOW), an organization that helps warriors relax, rehabilitate and reintegrate through kayak fishing and the outdoors. Jennings has also supported local schools by participating in Read Across America Day, teaching financial literacy classes, and serving as an advisor to the Future Business Leaders of America.
