The 19th Year Saddle Up Trail Ride for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital will be held Saturday and Sunday, April 1 and 2.
Last year, more than $25,000 was raised. This year’s goal is $30,000. All proceeds go to St. Jude.
This cause is especially important to folks around Huxford and Uriah. Two Huxford and J.U. Blacksher students – Denver Shuttlesworth and Marshall Coker – have been to St. Jude for treatment.
The location for the ride is Buford and Wayne Strength’s Place, 328 Strength Lane, Goodway. The GPS address is 328 Strength Lane, Frisco City AL 36445.
Primitive camping will be available for anyone (horse riders or non-horse riders) who wish to spend the night or weekend.
Bring your lawn chairs.
If you’d like to donate an item for the auction, please bring it with you or call one of the numbers below to have it picked up.
Everyone is invited to come out and support this event and to listen to local artists from around the county.
No alcoholic beverages allowed.
On Saturday, riders and wagons leave at 9 a.m. (only coffee will be provided) and return at 3. Beginning at 11, barbecue plates will be available to the public for a donation. The day includes barbecue plates (for a donation), gospel singing, auction, country singing (Night Movers Band), a dance, and a buck dance contest.
Breakfast will be served at 7 a.m. Sunday, followed by a church service. Riders and wagons leave at 10.
