Rotary offering two scholarships

The Atmore Rotary Club may award two scholarships up to $2,000 per scholarship to two 2017 high school graduates with a 2.5 or higher GPA who enroll as a full-time student in a college program for the 2017–2018 academic year (fall and spring semesters). The scholarships are awarded on the basis of both merit and need.

Scholarship application packets are available at local high schools; students should contact their high school counselor for an application. All applications must be completed and postmarked by April 7, 2017, and must be returned with statement of finances, essay, official high school transcript, and two teacher recommendations. The scholarship winners will be announced at the Atmore Rotary Club’s Academic All Star program in May.

The Atmore Rotary Club is an affiliate of Rotary International, which is the world’s first service club organization. More than 30 local members volunteer their time and talent to further the Rotary motto, Service Above Self. The Club supports the Academic All Stars, the Benefit Clay Shoot, and other community activities.
