Appreciating first responders

It was a first for Carney Lodge #549 in Atmore … but rest assured it won’t be the last.

On Friday, December 9, the Lodge served lunch to members of the all uniformed Escambia County first responders – police departments, fire departments, ambulance services, and the sheriff’s department – who wanted to stop by between 11 and 2 and get a bite to eat.

Lodge member Robert Skipper said this was the first year for the event, that it was just something they wanted to do for first responders to show the community’s appreciation.

The lunch was sponsored by Carney Lodge and Pepsi Cola Bottling of Atmore.
