Deer causes 6 cars to hit I-65 guardrail
A deer that was trying to cross Interstate 65 in the predawn hours of March 30 triggered a bizarre incident during which a vehicle struck a guardrail, tore it loose and sent it across two lanes of traffic, where five other vehicles ran over or struck the twisted piece of metal. Two local men were taken by ambulance to Atmore Community Hospital after a March 29 single-vehicle crash on Northgate Drive. A popular Pace, Fla. bass fisherman was killed, a Semmes man was seriously injured, and an Atmore man escaped with only minor injuries after two bass boats collided March 31 during a fishing tournament on the Tensaw River in Baldwin County.
