January is National Mentoring Month
Mayor Jim Staff signed a proclamation Monday, January 14, designating January as National Mentoring Month in Atmore, joining the rest of the nation in the observance. The purpose is to encourage citizens to recognize the importance of mentoring and to look for opportunities to serve as mentors in their communities. Mentoring program gets under way
Special to Atmore News New Horizons began their first Mentoring Sessions this past Saturday at Escambia County High School. New Horizons is a new mentoring program available in Atmore through the Children’s Policy Council that meets monthly with a Mentee class of nearly 20 or more students ages 11-16.
