Swine show and sale is Saturday
The Escambia County 4-H Swine Project Show & Sale is set for this Saturday, March 25, at Brewton Feed & Seed, Highway 31, Brewton. Show begins at 10 a.m. with the sale immediately following. Saddle up for St. Jude
The 19th Year Saddle Up Trail Ride for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital will be held Saturday and Sunday, April 1 and 2. Last year, more than $25,000 was raised. This year’s goal is $30,000. All proceeds go to St. Jude. This cause is especially important to folks around Huxford and Uriah. Two Huxford and J.U. Building robots at ECMS
The after school Project A-STEM at Escambia County Middle School is in full swing with students engaged in engineering designs for volcanos and walking robots. A-STEM is the after-school enrichment program focusing on science, technology, engineering, math and the arts at ECMS – changing lives one activity at a time. PES third graders follow ‘The Last Great Race on Earth’
This is the third year Perdido Elementary third-graders have followed the Iditarod, or “last great race on earth.” Mrs. Linda McCullough and Mrs. Laurie Myer have refined their approach and added new technology for the students each March as they research and follow their particular “musher.” The project is the brainchild of Mrs. McCullough. Atmore student makes AUM Dean’s List  
Matthew Kyle Barnett, a nursing major, earned recognition on the Dean’s List of Auburn University at Montgomery’s College of Nursing and Health Sciences for the Fall 2016 semester. To meet Auburn University’s requirements for inclusion on the dean’s list, the student must be enrolled for 12 credit hours and earn a GPA of at least 3.75 (on the 4.00 system).
