Not only does Santa visit Atmore for the annual Christmas parade, he stays around town several days to make sure girls and boys have a chance to see him and give him a wave. The Atmore Fire Department accommodates Santa with a seat atop one of their trucks as he visits all quadrants of the city. Shown, Santa rides down Main Street.

Calvin Grace, Director of Atmore’s Streets & Sanitation Department, announced that garbage and trash routes will be adjusted slightly for the Christmas holiday.There will be no garbage or trash collected on Monday, Christmas Day. Monday’s collections will be made instead on Tuesday, and Tuesday pickup will be made on Wednesday, December 27. Schedules will return to normal on Thursday, December 28.
