Found dog

The folks at the Atmore / PCI Animal Shelter need your help finding the owner of this black Lab. If this is your dog or if you have any information on where this older black lab lives, please contact the animal shelter, Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., 251-368-0859. The shelter is located off Highway 31 behind the National Guard Armory at 206 Cindebran Drive in Atmore.

Second registration set for swimming, diving lessons

Registrations for the second session of swimming and diving lessons will be Monday, June 17, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., at Tom Byrne Park pool. Lessons will be June 24 – July 12 with classes at 9, 10 and 11. These classes will meet Monday – Friday for one hour each. Afternoon lessons will be during the same time frame with classes being 5:20, 5:50 and 6:20 on Tuesday…

Change of Command

The Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training Unit (CNATTU) Oceana will welcome U.S. Navy Commander Gary M. Shelley as its new commanding officer in a ceremony at the unit’s ceremonial hangar this Thursday, June 13, in Virginia Beach, Va. CDR Shelley is married to the former Susan Celeste Tims of Atmore.

Chicken on Church

Leadership Atmore’s Chicken on Church was held Thursday, June 6. The threat of inclement weather sent the event indoors to the Church Street Incubator. Good food and good fellowship were still the order of the evening.
