Nathan Galvan of Atmore has been named to Southern New Hampshire University’s Winter 2021 President’s List. The winter term runs from January to May.Full-time students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.700 and above are named to the President’s List.Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) is a private, nonprofit institution with an 88-year history of educating traditional-aged students and working adults.

Registration for the first session for swimming and diving lessons is June 1, 5-6 p.m., Tom Byrne Park pool. Lessons begin June 7 and end June 25.

The Atmore Public Library’s summer reading program kicks off Friday, June 4. The University of West Alabama held spring commencement exercises Saturday, May 8, in Tiger Stadium, with President Ken Tucker conferring degrees. The nearly 700 students in the graduating class represent some 25 states across the U.S. and abroad.Among the graduates are two from Atmore:*Sharon Murphy Bachelor of Science, Psychology Andrew Sasser, Bachelor of Science, Integrated Marketing Communications
