The annual Myrna’s Salad Luncheon is set for Monday, June 17, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Encore at the Strand. Tickets, $15, each are available at Atmore News, 128 S. Main Street.

Work continued this week on the two Dollar General stores being built in or around Atmore. Company officials say the store in Canoe, located at 11700 Highway 31, near South Canoe Road (pictured), is expected to open by mid-August. The store under construction at 907 West Nashville Avenue in Atmore is currently slated to open by early September.
Swimming & diving lessons set at Tom Byrne Park Pool
Registrations for the first session of swimming and diving lessons will be held Monday, June 17, 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., at the Tom Byrne Park Pool.Lessons will be June 24 through July 12 with classes at 10 and 11.
