ACM, RP, ECMS meeting set
A meeting will be held Thursday, April 6, 5 p.m., at A.C. Moore Elementary School to discuss the proposed consolidation of A.C. Moore, Rachel Patterson Elementary and Escambia County Middle schools. Etheridge named to Hall of Fame
Five area residents will be inducted into the Atmore Area Hall of Fame later this month. Billy Conn Madison, chairman of the Hall of Fame Committee, released the names of this year’s inductees: William America, Earl Etheridge, Dr. William T. Hall, Howard Shell, and Eddie Staff. Search warrant on Blackwell Lane
The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant at a mobile home at 362 Blackwell Lane early Wednesday afternoon. Blackwell Lane is off Kaiser Farm Road, off Ewing Farm Road. Chief Deputy Mike Lambert said the target of the search – Gilbert Wade Blackwell, 28 – was not at the residence at the time of the search. Blackwell was arrested about a month ago but had bonded out. State to honor slain CO
A portion of Alabama Highway 21 will be formally designated as Correctional Officer Kenneth Bettis Memorial Highway during a ceremony to be held on Wednesday, April 12, in the Old House Chambers of the Alabama State Capitol.
