UB movie night features Moana, benefits Y
United Bank joins with the Atmore YMCA for a great cause as part of its Screen on the Green 2017 dinner and outdoor movie. The event will be held Friday, June 2, at Heritage Park, featuring Moana. PCI recycling teams up with ECMS
The Poarch Creek Recycling Center has teamed up with the Escambia County Middle School A-STEM students in an ongoing project to reinforce the benefits to the community by recycling school trash. The recycling center donated a scale and trash storage containers to the school for the students to document the amount they recycle. ECMS A-STEM students build
Escambia County Middle School Project A-STEM students designed buildings with only toothpicks and marshmallows. The winning building measured 26-1/2 inches tall and was sturdy enough to be moved. The students debriefed by creating story boards to describe the process used and how each team fixed problems with their designs. Students agreed on the winning team and also stated this was by far their favorite activity to date.

Turtle Point raising funds on Redbasket.org
Turtle Point Science Center in Flomaton is raising funds to renovate the boardwalk, one of the most popular parts of the center. According to Director Jackie Word, donations may be made through Redbasket.org, a nonprofit crowdfunding website made available through WoodmenLife.
