New police cars
Atmore Police Department officials recently took delivery of five new Ford Explorer patrol vehicles that were custom built to include special emergency packages. The purchase, approved by the city council in September 2017, was from Johnson Ford, which submitted the only bid. The Explorers cost $26,668.08 apiece, a total expenditure of $133,340.40. Easter in the Park
Easter in the Park is set for this Saturday, March 24, Heritage Park. The day begins at 9:30 a.m. with the arrival of the Easter Bunny. There are always plenty of activities for children including an egg hunt with 3,000 eggs, Easter arts and crafts, games, the Easter Express Train and more. Lords (and Ladies) of the Ring
Escambia Academy’s football players, coaches, cheerleaders, band and dance team members, and other support personnel received their 2017 AISA Class 2A state championship rings during a March 15 banquet held at Wind Creek. The ring presentations highlighted an evening that also included dinner, video clips from the title game and the season, and recognition of the school’s 2014 state championship team.
