Teen shooter bound over to grand jury
De’Andre Lamar Mitchell, the Atmore teen charged with attempted murder in a February 27 shooting that left a classmate paralyzed, was recently bound over to a county grand jury after a brief preliminary hearing that the young defendant did not attend. Pair arrested in prison smuggling try
A man and woman, both from Montgomery, were arrested April 9 for attempting to smuggle contraband into one of the state prisons located outside Atmore. According to a DOC press release, the incident in which the pair is charged occurred around 12:30 a.m., when a prison K-9 unit spotted a “suspicious vehicle parked at the entrance gate to William C.
