September was Attendance Awareness Month at Huxford Elementary School. Names were drawn from the group of students who had no absences, check-outs, or tardies for the month. The winner was Donald Alexander, center, who won the Razor scooter. Runners-up were Michael Turberville, left, and Zykenzie Martin, right, who received Sonic gift cards!

City, county will meet Oct. 15
News Staff Report Meetings of the Atmore City Council and Escambia County Commission, each initially scheduled for next Monday, October 14, have been moved to Tuesday, October 15. The meetings were rescheduled due to Monday’s Columbus Day holiday, a federal and state holiday observed by both local governments.
