Jarrett Nelson of Atmore has been named to the Provost’s List at Troy University for the Spring Semester / Term 4 of the 2019/2020 academic year. The Provost’s List honors full-time undergraduate students who are registered for at least 12 semester hours and who have a grade point average of at least 3.65.

Registrations for the third session of swimming and diving lessons will be Monday, July 6, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Tom Byrne Park pool. Lessons will be July 13 through July 31, with classes at 9, 10 and 11. These classes will meet Monday through Friday for one hour each. The last Market in the Park for this season was held Saturday, June 27, at Heritage Park. In addition to checking out the fresh vegetables and produce, shoppers of all ages enjoyed looking at art and other wares.

Atmore firefighters came to the rescue Friday, June 26, when members of a Leadership Atmore class, which painted The Alley in Atmore as a project, didn’t have ladders tall enough to reach the highest points.
