Six Atmore residents — three men and three women — were arrested Saturday, February 1, when city police executed a search warrant at a Harris Street residence and came up with a pair of stolen guns, several ounces of marijuana and undisclosed quantities of two other illicit substances.
Atmore Police Sgt. Darrell McMann reported that the raid, which was based on complaints from citizens and subsequent surveillance of the property, went down around 3:30 p.m.
Police seized two guns that had been reported stolen by local residents. Also discovered were several hundred grams of marijuana, along with Ecstasy pills, THC gummies and items used for packaging narcotics, including digital scales.
There was also evidence of the presence of synthetic cannabis (Spice), and two small children were found in close proximity to the narcotics, police said.
The raid was the second such APD operation this year. Four men were arrested January 9 after a similar raid led to the seizure of what police called “a large amount” of cocaine, along with small amounts of two other illicit substances, at a house on Martin Luther King Drive.
Those arrested in the Harris Street raid, along with the charges against each, were:
*Willis Williams, 26 — possession of a controlled substance, second-degree receiving stolen property, first-degree possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia.
*Kenta Finklea, 37 — possession of a controlled substance, first-degree possession of marijuana, second-degree receiving stolen property, obstructing government operations, chemical endangerment of a child, possession of drug paraphernalia.
*Diane Finklea, 63 — possession of a controlled substance, first-degree possession of marijuana, second-degree receiving stolen property, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
*Aaron Salter, 27 — possession of a controlled substance, first-degree possession of marijuana, second-degree receiving stolen property, possession of drug paraphernalia,

All six remained in the Escambia County Detention Center late Monday afternoon, February 3.
