Butler, Akins honored

The Atmore Lions Club met on December 18, in the Mayson Auditorium at Atmore Community Hospital.
The meeting was an awards one and as such, no program was planned.
Lion President Joyce Petty called the meeting to order and led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Lion Mike Von Keyserling led the prayer.
Following lunch, Lion Renee Hardy explained the significance of the Melvin Jones Award and then presented it to Elsie Butler, in honor of her late husband, Walt Butler.
Lion Joyce Petty announced the Lion of the Year Award to Gregg Akins for his help and service during the last year.
Lions then enjoyed dessert and a time of fellowship.
