Creek Travel Stores launch blanket drive for the homeless

Special to Atmore News

Creek Travel Stores (CTS) announces the launch of its annual Blanket Drive for the Homeless, which began October 15 and runs to November 25, 2024. This initiative aims to provide warmth and comfort to those in need during the upcoming winter months in partnership with The Flight Deck in Pensacola, a steadfast supporter of the Heavenly Blessings Thrift Store and Shelter for over three decades.
CTS invites the community to join them in this compassionate endeavor by donating new or gently used blankets.
Blankets will be accepted at the following drop-off locations:

  • 4740 Jack Springs Road, Poarch Reservation, Atmore
  • 116 Poarch Road, Atmore
  • 100 Brookwood Road, Atmore
“With each donation, we move closer to our shared goal of ensuring no individual faces the harsh winter without the warmth of a blanket,” Marketing Manager Jennifer Chism said.
For 32 years, The Flight Deck has been a pivotal force in supporting the Heavenly Blessings Thrift Store and Shelter, distributing essential items to alleviate the hardships of homelessness. Creek Travel Stores supports this cause and contributes to the well-being of the community members most in need.
“We urge individuals, families, and businesses to participate in this vital initiative,” Chis, said. “Your contributions, whether in the form of blankets or by spreading the word, are invaluable. Together, we can extend a gesture of kindness that brings immediate relief and enduring hope to our neighbors.
“Please share this information widely to amplify our reach and maximize the impact of our collective efforts. Please encourage your friends, colleagues, and networks to contribute, ensuring that our community stands united in this mission of empathy and support.
“Let us come together to make this winter a season of warmth and generosity. Creek Travel Stores thanks you for your support and compassion.”
