A local woman and a passenger in her 2016 Chevrolet Malibu escaped serious injury February 6 when the woman lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the sheltered portion of Atmore Grill (formerly Dean’s Grill), at the junction of North Main and Howard streets, just after 7 p.m. According to police reports, 22-year-old Kameran Boggan’s car slammed into the shelter’s support pole and its telecommunications pole and box after her foot became wedged between the brake and accelerator pedals as she tried to slow down when the junction’s traffic light turned yellow.
