Two Escambia County Board of Education members were among the honorees at the Alabama Association of School Boards’ awards luncheon held Dec. 1 at The Sheraton Birmingham Hotel.
BOE President Loumeek White achieved Level III status which requires 75 training hours.
Sherry Digmon reached Master level for the fourth time. This requires 100 training hours, all eight Academy core courses, plus 15 hours and one additional core course.
Digmon and White were recognized for advancing in the School Board Member Academy, AASB’s training program for school board members.
“AASB congratulates these members who are dedicated to expanding on their boardmanship skills through AASB’s School Board Member Academy,” AASB Executive Director Sally Smith said. “They continue to set the bar high for themselves and others with their commitment and passion for public education.”
