Stanley Benjamin Quimby
Mr. Stanley Benjamin Quimby, age 43, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Monday, September 26, 2022 in Pensacola, Fla. He was born in Atmore to the late Stanley Buford and Sandra Lovelace Quimby. He was a 1997 graduate of Escambia County High School and earned a Bachelor’s degree from Auburn University. He was a school teacher for several years, where he was loved by all of his staff and students. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Atmore, where he served working in the sound booth and playing with the Cunningbells, the Handbell Choir. He had a deep love for holidays, especially Christmas. His creativity beamed through homemade gifts, numerous proms and school events, decorating homes and yards, and his witty humor.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Quimby is survived by his companion, Brett Floyd of Atmore; his siblings, Jon (Heidi) Quimby of Newport News, Va., David Quimby and Joey Quimby, both of Atmore, Matthew Quimby (Ambre Kelly) of Daphne, Ala. and Kaitlyn Hambrick of Chattanooga, Tenn. along with other family and friends.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service was held Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Atmore with Rev. Andy Gartman, officiating.

Colorful flowers will be accepted, and donations can be made to the Atmore First United Methodist Church Cancel Choir and The Cunningbell Choir at: First United Methodist Church of Atmore, 311 S Pensacola Ave. Atmore AL 36502

Linda Slate Garrick
Ms. Linda Slate Garrick, age 79, of Atmore, Ala. passed away Thursday, September 27, 2022 in Atmore. She was born in Jay, Fla. to Rupert Eugene and Gussie Lou Eddins Jackson. She was a member of Canoe Church and a retired seamstress with Vanity Fair.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ronald H. Slate, Sr.; her son, Ronald H. Slate, II; her baby brother, Anthony Jackson and her sister, Evelyn Sullivan.

Ms. Garrick is survived by her children, Tony (Sandra) Slate of Bratt, Fla., Tim (Liezel) Slate, Rusty (Tracey) Slate and Melanie (Thomas) Guy, all of Atmore; her grandchildren, DeWayne Slate, Casey Little, Natalie Rodgers, Ronnie Slate, III, Magen Weaver, Jarvis Slate, John Wayne Slate and T.J. Jarrell along with twelve great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday, September 30, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel in Atmore with Bro. Willie Armstrong officiating. Interment followed in Cora Baptist Church Cemetery in Jay, Fla.

.Active pallbearers were DeWayne Slate, Jarvis Slate, Bo Slate, Duck Weaver, Ronnie Slate, III and Mark Rodgers.

The family received friends Friday, September 30, 2022 from 10 a.m. until service time at 1l a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Tracey L. Jackson
Elder Tracey Linnie Jackson, age 62, of Fayetteville, N.C., passed away Monday, September 19, 2022 in Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born in Atmore, Ala. to Ozell Jackson, Sr. and Margarette Harrison Jackson. He was a 1979 graduate of Escambia County High School. He worked with Bo Brother Construction in New Orleans, La. His greatest accomplishment was helping build the Carter Finley Stadium in Raleigh, N.C. He was a devoted member of Anointed Word Ministries in Fayetteville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Odell Jackson, Jr. and Bobby Jackson
Elder Jackson is survived by his children, Takesha (Phillip) Jemison, Taneshia (Brian) Robinson and Courtney Tyrone (Santana) Jackson; five grandchildren, Tyresius Paul, Kailyn Reynolds, Brennan Robinson, Carter Jackson and Chace Jackson; two sisters, Enga Jackson and Lorna Graves; a cherished aunt, Mildred Jackson; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and special friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Full Gospel Church with Pastor F.D. Banks, officiating/Pastor. Interment followed in Luscious Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Courtney Jackson, Tyresius Paul, Brian Robinson, Phillip Jemison, Shelby Archie, Archie Jackson, Jr.

Flower bearers were the ECHS Class of 1979 and friends.
